Randomly was perusing Target on Saturday and found the very last Lego Movie "Everything is Awesome" Edition Blu Ray set for $9 sitting on a shelf with the regular children's DVDs. I was awkwardly followed by a mother for the rest of my shopping trip, in hopes I'd change my mind and put it down I guess?

I think it's horrible. Black Friday used to be fun back in the day but now it's just a mess. People have lost their lives because of this bullsh*t. Now the stores can't even wait until Friday, they have to start right on Thanksgiving. Why? Because they know the mindless masses would be more than willing to skip the holiday family time just to go save a few bucks. It's sad and disgusting. But I blame the mindless consumers just as much as the corporations. If they would just at least boycott the stores on Thanksgiving to show these money grubbing bastards that they care more about their families than material items. Of course that will never happen. The stores have already ruined Christmas and now they're ruining Thanksgiving. The holidays used to bring out the best in people, now they bring out the worst. The Holidays still are about bringing out the best in people. Turn on the news, you'll see maybe 20 at most news stories about people having arguments at the stores on black Friday. Think about it for a second, how many people went shopping? Incidents are bound to happen when the numbers are that high. So for every 1 clip you see on the news of people fighting over pantys there were thousands of people who had a nice shopping experience. I feel stores (Mostly Walmart) dont help the matter when they get 100 of the hot item in store and thousands of people show up. I can't understand why stores wouldnt stock up to meet all customer demands. Walmart sold a television for 200 dollars, no amount of inventory would go unsold. I don't want a television at this time BUT if I walked into Walmart the Tuesday following Black Friday, when I know the store wont be packed with people, and I saw the television still available I would buy it. I'd honestly prob buy two or three if I found them at that 200 dollar price. Instead though Walmart will get 100 or so, thousands of people will show up, and the televisions will be gone in less than 5 mins. Im using televisions as an example btw, really it is every hot item/doorbuster that im referring to. Also I'll go ahead and say I feel no sympathy for employees of stores/malls who have to work on Thanks Giving. Years ago I had to work on Thanks giving at a grocery store. The store wasnt having any kind of special sale, it was just business as usual. Police, Fire, EMTs, Radio dispatchers, Airport employees, Truckers, Fleet maintenance workers, Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Staff, all have to work on holidays so why should I feel sympathy for people having to work at Walmart/Target/Bestbuy and so on. If anything all those retail employees prob cherry picked what they wanted before the store was even open to the public. Last I'll say this. It came to me yesterday as I saw different news reports. Doesn't it seem like Black Friday is kind of like the movie "The Purge"? Most of the action occurs when the sun is down. People act up in ways they normally wouldnt just on that one night. And then in the morning we see video footage of the previous nights events on the news. They only have limited quantities because you do not make a profit on those huge markdown items. If they were to sell thousands of those tvs in one store your not going to make a profit.

IDK, the way the stores and companies shove the holidays down our throats before we can even get through Halloween and opening stores on Thanksgiving, it just doesn't seem right. It's so blatently obvious that the holidays are more about money these days than anything else. It's whatever I guess, no one's forcing me to participate in this madness. However, should the time come when Halloween gets completely overshadowed by the holidays then there's gonna be some serious issues.

On Halloween I can go out and decide if I want to give out treats. I can decide what kind of treats. I can decorate my house in a variety of different ways/themes. On Xmas though people expect you to give them stuff, if they arent demanding it from you. And decorations are pretty much the same thing every year. Xmas is just no where near as fun as Halloween IMO.
