My TRU also loaded up on their other exclusive PPV basics, the non-baf versions...which were also very boring repaints that sat forever and blocked any new stock coming in. After Christmas a couple years ago they were stuck with about twenty E18 Rey Mysterios, which they refused to clearance, and it blocked them from getting any new elites for nearly a full year. They do have alot of problems which are out of their control, but on top of that they make bad decisions, and it forces customers to go elsewhere.

Mine (Bolton, UK) currently has four Elite Sheamus from the John Laurinaitis set on the shelves. Still priced at £24.99 ($39.09 by today's conversion rate) I fail to see how they hope to move them when there's clearly nobody else from the set

I asked the manager of my TRU and he says that WWE Figures don't sell that well. Makes sense though... why would you stock the hell out of product that don't move? That manager is an assjacket. WWE was the #1 selling action figure line of 2013. Sheamus and Del Rio of the baf lines don't sell. That's it. Is that right? Well best selling toylines don't get their sections cut in half from 8ft to 4ft. That only happens at retail when crap don't move, bro. So again.... it makes perfect sense.

My TRU has a ton of WWE stuff and the wrestling section is huge.
I went on Saturday and they had all of Elite 30, they restocked the Jim Ross BAF. They had all of Basic 39. They had all of the last 2 waves of Battle Packs. They had the 21-1 Brock TRU exclusive. They had the Scale Ring. They had a lot of Elite 26 Warrior.
The only crap they have that they'll never get rid of is all of the Booker T BAF Sheamus/Del Rio figures and all of those Paul Heyman BAF CM Punks. Other than that, it was a really really really good selection of figures.
Obviously I would love to get started on the Paul Bearer and Corporate Kane BAF's....but I'm sure they will hit eventually.

If WWE lines don't sell well, why is Target picking up in what they carry? Target is closing 11 stores in the coming months and they are increasing the WWE line. TRU is known for Exclusives and the basic line BAF's have not done well recently, as we all seem to agree. But Elites have sold everywhere and seem to be doing ok. WWE is the only "sports" line figures that are left.

I don't think there is a "rift" of any kind. I think its a number of reasons. First off, TRU always over orders a certain Elite series and some how it always ends up being the Elite series with the biggest shelf warmers that backs things up. My TRU has had elite 28 for months, skipped Elite 29 and just now got in Elite 30. TRU usually always is the last to get the new sets in, and on top of that they skip many sets because the one set they do offer sits on the shelf forever while target, walmart, and even Kmart restock before TRU.
Online ordering has also become more popular and Amazon gets pretty much every set in stock. I know personally if I want a set Ringside or Amazon are my best bet because my local TRU skips series all the time. Also add in the price TRU charges and ordering online is an easy decision.
TRU was great at one time but with sites like Amazon taking over and online shopping becoming increasingly more popular stores like TRU aren't what they use to be.

Unless the manager is your dad I'm not sure why you're offended. Managers will say anything hoping the consumer is ignorant. How many times were their stories posted on here about Target managers telling people that they discontinued basics because they haven't had any for awhile? Also I didn't pull that stat out of thin air. It's fact. Your store is an exception and that sucks for you.

TRU over orders everything. My TRU got about 30 cases of E18. Let us not even get into how many cases of Legends 2 they ordered that never went away. It's all about inventory management and warehouse distribution. Plus, try ordering something online from TRU.com and have it be either in-stock or correctly arrive at your door.

I heard the rift was caused by this:
TRU VP: "we are tired of all the Cena, Orton, Mysterios and Big Shows. Please, no more."
MATTEL: "have another HHH then,"

I dont think so. TRU probably just ordered way too much of the older sets and need to clear them out or maybe they just decided to not order as much this year. TRU has had some pretty sweetheart deals the last few years on BOPPV and Exclusive Elite's during this holiday time but you have to wonder if those deals hurt their bottom line too much.

I don't think there's a problem with Mattel and TRU. if there was they wouldn't be stocked so heavily with other Mattel brands. (Hot Wheels, Barbie, Fisher Price) It's TRU's distribution on the WwE and DC Comic brands For the most part they don't send new product to their stores until the older inventory moves. And the way TRU jacks up their prices on both those brands they aren't moving as quickly. With the holidays hitting TRU will clear out their warehouses/distribution centers like every other year. Let's just say that Geoffrey, the beloved giraffe and President of Toys R Us, Inc. LLC, visited Mattel HQ recently and WRECKED their bathroom... and several employee break rooms. So yeah, there is somewhat of a "rift". Geoffrey, died a couple years ago coming the filming of Zoo Keeper.

They might be the number one seller, because sales are based on what the retailers order from Mattel not what we the consumers purchase at mass retail. So yes the retailers could have ordered more WWE product...but it might not be selling well at TRU because of the way they price gouge. Other than the exclusives why should someone go to TRU and pay $5-$10 more for a WWE figur/DC Total Heroes/DC Multiverse/ML or SW figure when they can go to Target, KMart or WalMart for less?

TRU and Wal-Mart have both been horrible for years at overstocking their exclusives (not just wrestling figures) to the point that they can't stock new products including their own future exclusives. When one exclusive set is peg warming then of course the store manager will say they don't sell good because they aren't.
The problem is terrible distribution from the retailers.

Nobody buys the current wrestlers....it's all about 90's and 80's guys. Most of the time Mattle puts up Cena, Orton, Bryant, Kane, Show......everyone wants the wrestlers fromt the better wrestling era;s.
