Good for him. It's been blatantly obvious since he came out that WWE doesn't actually give a crap about equal rights or him in general, they just like having him around so they can show off the gay employee when it's convenient.

I can see this getting locked soon, so I'm gonna chip in while I can.
WWE shouldn't keep Darren Young employed JUST because he is gay. Gay or not, if they don't have anything for him then get rid of him. Despite this I do support Darren sticking up for himself, but was he allowed there before he came out as gay?

Unless Dubai has some secret legitimate gaydar we don't know about.

So my thoughts on this... WWE is a business. They make a lot of money overseas. They are allowed to continue to do that. Darren Young is not technically their employee. All wrestlers are independent contractors, thus he is not obliged to accompany them to a country where he would not be welcome. Right or wrong, that is THEIR business not OURS. The attitude of America is "we're right, everyone else who doesn't think like us is wrong"....morals aside that's not always true. Other countries exist as they should. It's their own ing business and maybe if America started minding ITS OWN business we could fix problems HERE instead of all the other places. This is hardly an issue. I get why Young might be pissed off....but maybe instead of being mad they are going to Abu Dhabi...be mad that you are a talented performer who was part of a ing AWESOME tag team and were completely crap on and buried for NO REASON, and have yet to even scratch a match on RAW since then. Be mad that there are 5 hours of mainstream wrestling TV a week and you don't even have a place on that. Be mad that this company hires hollywood douchebags who have ZERO creativity and are responsible for writing and "producing" the immense amount of garbage we are fed on a weekly basis. But if you're mad at what another country is doing, then go over there with our army and fight them, waste more of our tax dollars and lives for a pointless war to try and make people believe and operate the way WE do. Hypocrites much? Yeah. It's pretty much our society in a nutshell. Your efforts are being focused on the WRONG things, Darren.

Yeah, be pissed at your company for trying to protect you, Darren Young. They don't bring women on those tours either, so I guess they're sexist too.
God forbid the WWE protects their employees. Most places if you bash your workplace on Twitter, Facebook, etc. you're bound to get fired. Feel lucky.

Fair play, but at the end of the day, Abu Dhabi is full of money & possible investors. I doubt they aren't going to tour there purely because it might upset Darren Young's feelings.

Plenty of other reasons to prove they are. Going to those places shows they value money over their talent.

It's a shame that stuff like this happens but get over it Darren. The WWE tours the south and there are racists there who hate blacks. I guess they can't go there either. I know it's not the same but still. Maybe if Young would actually concentrate on being a better worker he'd be on tv and not having to do bullcrap like this. Nice to play the race/gay card. Yeah, but it's not illegal to be black in the South. Is it?

Ya know, all fifty US states not only were once gay marriageless, they all had sodomy laws as well. For example, the ultimate liberal state itself New York had sodomy laws that covered gay sex and a plethora of other things until 1980. When Bob Backlund beat Billy Graham for the WWWF Title in 1978 in Madison Square Garden, gay sex was illegal in NY. According to Young, that show should never have happened. So what if the UAE has those laws? They're stupid laws, I'm certainly a supporter of gay rights, but WWE has to make money.

Our beloved figures come from China out of shops where people are paid pennies an hour to assemble and package these things. If they were paid fair wages a basic might cost $70 or more. Does that warrant an outcry, too? You really think that fair wages would drive prices up this high? Do you want these people to be making a million dollars a year? Maybe if less money went to the corporate suits and investors and profit-driven slime balls and more went to the workers, it would be more fair. I think all the anti-union sentiment has hurt worker's rights in the end. But everything that humans get involved in becomes flawed. And Abu Dabi is a sorry hateful garbage place. It's pathetic that the WWE will gladly take their hate money.

Seems a little petty to me. It would be different if they didnt support him or his personal choices but when he decided to openly come out they made sure people knew and didnt try to hide it. To say WWE shouldnt run shows in a certain country/region because of their beliefs is depriving fans, the same fans that help pay your bills, of a show. Maybe instead of acting like a drama queen and wanting attention, he should use his free time to bring acceptance/knowledge of the gay community to places where they're not accepted.

Good for him. Wwe would never fire him for speaking out it would be a P.R disaster but on the other side you don't see the divas complaining about it also it seems he loves to milk it for all it worth that he's gay since he has come out it seems like that's all he talks about I think IMO if he didn't come out I doubt he would still be employed by wwe BTW I have many gay family members I have no issues with homosexuality

I'm not saying what they should be paid, but I know what producing an item here in America costs paying people minimum wages and the small profit margins we have to go along with it. That's why companies that are able to shift work overseas. It doesn't make that practice right, but I can see why they try to do it. And please don't start with the corporate slime ball stuff. Yes, greed is real, but there really are many CEOs that don't take advantage of the system. Besides, it sends the message that one should be penalized for being successful. How stupid does that sound?
