How can it be impossible to get tickets to this event? I was online before 10 AM. I've been going to shows for 15 years and I've been on Ticketmaster for over an hour with not 1 seat show up at all in any price range. This is outrageous. I can't afford Platinum seating. I tried calling them, all their reps are busy. How can they say not many tickets left as of now when you can't even get 1 seat to show up?

I could get tickets no problem at small arenas for past PPVs (example SummerSlam 2007 and Royal Rumble 2008), but for some odd reason I couldn't buy a ticket for 1 freaking seat! Wrestling was much popular back then than it's now, so why are they selling out so fast?

That sucks for those who want to go see it in person, but now that I am older I hate going to concerts/shows/games/movies/flights unless I can get an aisle seat. I used to love it when I was in my teens and early twenties. But as I got older I enjoyed it less and less. Now in my late forties I hate sitting next to a strangers because 9 times out of 10 they turn out to be morons and I don't like being crowded. So even though it's only an hour or so away I will just watch it at home in the a/c on the network for $9.99. Hope you get you tickets though.

I think it's ridiculous they save all those front row and floor seats for travel packages. People coming in from other states get better seats than people who live in the area. That's crap

Previous posts have pretty much nailed it. Shows like this sell out, fast. It's not strange at all for you to never see a single ticket for a show like this, despite being on right as they went on sale.
Also, for what it's worth, there are tickets available in every single area (including front row.) No event and/or arena can withhold all seats in a given area for travel packages/platinum seats/etc. They have to make at least a few available to the general public during the general on-sale. Of course, it's not very many (probably 4-10 in a case like this), but they are available. It's all a matter of luck.
There will be releases for Summerslam, too. Just like any event. You basically have to become a slave to Ticketmaster, though, and check whenever you get a free moment. The expensive seats (that include a chair) will probably become pretty readily available a week or two before the show.

I was going to get tickets, but it wasn't worth the hassle. I'll probably go to a live event in the NY/NJ area. Much easier and better seats

It's on my bucket list to be in attendance at a Wrestlemania some day. Nothing like it. My first was last year in New Orleans. Im going again this year. It is quite the experience.

Probably not as many as you think since on stubhub on the centered sections of the floor there are NO seats in the first 5 rows. If they were obtainable the Scalpers would have those up for 5 grand right now. Also the Rumble soldout this year and stayed soldout. It happens that you can get great seats (I've gotten first row to house shows the day of) but usually not for a PPV like this in this market. Unless the seats they saved for the travel packages don't sell since the Rumble didn't have that option. That's possible.

And you know most people buy the tickets but don't go right? Almost about 50% of them are sold online for a little but higher than they were originally bought for. I got my summerslam tickets in 2006, 2009, and 2011 only a few weeks before the event and they were great seats. You don't need to buy them when they first come out to get good seats

Ticketmaster said none available but I was able to get 2 on StubHub.
Probably paid more than I should but, whatever.

It's on my bucket list to be in attendance at a Wrestlemania some day. If you ever have the chance, I'd say go for it. I ended up coming along a 9 hour drive from Canada to WM 29 last minute because one of my friends decided not to go any more so me and my other friend went and we had a blast. Even if the event sucks, chances are you'll enjoy it anyway and the atmosphere of WM Weekend is crazy. You could be in a hotel and just yell something wrestling related and everyone around you will know what you are talking about. It's awesome.

Meh, I'm glad I opted to not try for Summerslam tickets.... I was going to try for tickets when it was scheduled for Izod, but the drive into Brooklyn just doesn't appeal to me (and the parking, etc. that goes along with it). Sounds like I would have ended up being aggravated with the ticket situation, too.
I was on the fence for Payback (Baltimore) or Summerslam (Jersey/NY), and I went with Payback - got sixth row seats a few weeks ago. I hope the card is decent!

Wrestlezone has an article up saying that most of the tickets were sold during the presale.
