That sucks for those who want to go see it in person, but now that I am older I hate going to concerts/shows/games/movies/flights unless I can get an aisle seat. I used to love it when I was in my teens and early twenties. But as I got older I enjoyed it less and less. Now in my late forties I hate sitting next to a strangers because 9 times out of 10 they turn out to be morons and I don't like being crowded. So even though it's only an hour or so away I will just watch it at home in the a/c on the network for $9.99. Hope you get you tickets though. This...

i heard people having issues trying to get them and that sucks, i managed to get 6 in sec 16 before the clock hit 10:01 on wednesdays presale, but im not sure why people are surprised that these sold out so quick regardless if it was scalpers or fans getting them
However, WWE owes me 5 tickets to a show of my choosing as well so if Im able to secure those additional tickets for summerslam (which I am trying to do), ill post the offer here before i list them on eBay

Previous posts have pretty much nailed it. Shows like this sell out, fast. It's not strange at all for you to never see a single ticket for a show like this, despite being on right as they went on sale. Also, for what it's worth, there are tickets available in every single area (including front row.) No event and/or arena can withhold all seats in a given area for travel packages/platinum seats/etc. They have to make at least a few available to the general public during the general on-sale. Of course, it's not very many (probably 4-10 in a case like this), but they are available. It's all a matter of luck. There will be releases for Summerslam, too. Just like any event. You basically have to become a slave to Ticketmaster, though, and check whenever you get a free moment. The expensive seats (that include a chair) will probably become pretty readily available a week or two before the show. Probably not as many as you think since on stubhub on the centered sections of the floor there are NO seats in the first 5 rows. If they were obtainable the Scalpers would have those up for 5 grand right now. Also the Rumble soldout this year and stayed soldout. It happens that you can get great seats (I've gotten first row to house shows the day of) but usually not for a PPV like this in this market. Unless the seats they saved for the travel packages don't sell since the Rumble didn't have that option. That's possible. That's not necessarily the case. The few that were available could have been grabbed by individuals just looking to actually go the event, not buying them for resale. As I mentioned, we're likely talking a very small number, somewhere between 4 and 10 seats in given rows in given sections. The sample size would be incredibly small, small enough that it's possible none make it onto the secondary market. Not all ticket brokers list their seats for sale on StubHub, either. While it is the most common marketplace, several agencies may opt to take a different approach with a ticket with such a high dollar value, given StubHub's commissions. Not having tickets available there is not fully indicative of what was or wasn't available to the public. There are always seats released, always, no matter what market we're talking about. Someone inquired about the Royal Rumble this year on this board and I easily pulled up fifth row seats on Ticketmaster a week before the show. It's just a matter of checking religiously for a release. WWE always holds an excessive number of ringside seats for their events to satisfy all corporate sponsors, celebrity guests, friends, family, etc., etc. They always take more than they need, and then when they have their final count, the rest get thrown back into the public pool. As you mentioned, they'll also throw in any unclaimed travel package seats as well. Finally, all those Ticketmaster Platinum auctions that have ridiculous markups will be thrown back into the public pool at face value as well. They drop the price every month by 10-15%, and then kill the listings entirely a few weeks out.

I got two tickets, section 112, I was planning to sell them on StubHub, but if you want them I'll sell them, $250 each.

Sucks, I planned on going. Although it is my fault, waited a little too long.

You're right, it was their independent box office. My mistake. I forget they're one of the few east coast arenas that lists outside of Ticketmaster.

I'm so glad in went in 2006, before they started running almost exclusively in LA. Even then, I had to fly up from Florida at the behest of a college buddy. I have friends and acquaintances my age who travel to as many live events as they can. More power to them, I just like to play it smart and go when they're in my area. I'm just lucky I have a kind, understanding and generous fiancee who makes such event attendance possible for me.
