Mets are never going to win the World Series in my lifetime. Why did I have to grow up a Mets fan. I feel the same way. I was born almost exactly two years after the Mets won the 1986 World Series. I hate the Kansas City Royals just as I hate the Tampa Bay Lighting. At least the one positive is the Royals won't get the acknowledgement along the Canyon of Heroes. That is reserved for New York Area sports teams only. I have walked along the Canyon of Heroes many times. If the Mets aren't in the World Series next year and actually win it, they should just move the **** out of New York.

Traveling along the Canyon of Heroes would be pretty damn cool.
Although the incoming championship rings will probably make up for that.

Letting Cespedes bat last night after he broke his goddamn kneecap was what cost them the game. He couldnt even walk after the game!
I mean COllins made some awful decisions: Familia in game 4, why? Letting Harvey face Hosmer?
Sending Harvey out for the 9th was the right move tho

I am hopeful the Mets will take their World Series appearance as a way of being hungry to win it next year.
Hopefully, it will take the Royals another 30 years to win it again.

Just for that to quote Jericho I hope the Mets Never Everrrrrr win a World Series again. Just watched the game again on MLB network and I could just watch Mets fans reactions from the 8th on for like four hours straight to see people go from so cocky to so crushed so quickly it was great.

The Mets winning another World Series is inevitable. Much like how the Kansas City Royals winning another one after capturing their first in 1985. The Mets have more of a chance winning the World series than the Cubs. Going to other professional sports for a moment, it is inevitable seeing the Dallas Cowboys winning another Super Bowl. I can see the Mets going to the World Series and winning it. What I find most interesting is how history did repeat itself in 2015. The Mets going to an extra innings Game One in 2000 and 2015 and losing the series in five games. I did see several Royals fans on the Flushing line yesterday. Even as fans were existing the Mets-Willets Point station, the electricity was electric. For the Royals, they hated the fact they lost the World Series last year. They eventually became the number one seed in the American League and got their retribution. It is going to be an interesting opening day when the Royals and Mets square off again. I am sure the Mets are going to be very motivated to avenge their loss.

In all honesty I hope the Mets get back there next year and win it unless they are playing the Royals again. That is a good team that was fun to watch during the playoffs and if they can get some bullpen arms during the offseason they will be tough to beat if they get back to the playoffs. If the Mets can get there financials in order and are able to keep all or at least most of the young pitchers they will be good for a long time barring injuries.

Doesn't matter if you are a Mets or a Royals fan, the Royals' 2016 home opener against the Mets is going to be a must see game. Much like how good the ratings were for the 2015 World Series. It is going to be a long off-season for sure.

I really don't see the Royals or the Mets being in the World Series again next year. Its tough to get back, other teams are always in the mix and/or getting better and just because you were in it one year, doesn't mean you will be there the next.

For the Kansas City Royals, they were on their A game because they were pissed off for losing the 2014 world Series. They had such a thirst for capturing baseball's top prize. They accomplished that this year. I hope the Mets dust themselves off and win the World Series next year. Should they pull that off, I can finally say I've seen the Mets win the World Series. The way I feel about the Mets losing the World Series is something I haven't felt since the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the New York Yankees in the 2001 World Series.

The Mets only made the Playoffs because the Washington Nationals had an inexplicable awful season.
In 2016, if the Nationals actually play like their roster ON PAPER dictates that they should, and the Mets don't make an effort to replace the offense their going to lose by letting Murphey and Cespedes walk....then Mets aren't winning the NL East, probably not even making the Playoffs with the Cards, Cubs and Bucs all in the Central. I mean, Cubs had almost 100 wins and were in THIRD place in the Central! Baring catastrophic injury or collapse the Central has 2, maybe 3 Playoff spots again.
Mets rotation is good, but you need to score to win. If the Mets don't make an effort to improve their lineup, then they're going to keep losing close games after wasting great starting pitching performances.

I felt the Mets blew the series as much as the Royals won it. Mets should have had 3 out of the 4 they lost.
Still, that was great 5 gamer. I can't complain too much for I was thoroughly entertained.
The best part was getting to go back and watch last years game 7 all over again. The sight of Moustakas and Gordon cheering in victory annoyed me. I had to go back and watch their sad faces all over again to brighten my day.

Well you can forget the Nationals doing anything with Dusty Baker. R.I.P. Strasburg's arm.

Multiple MLB analysts stated that the Royals would lose this series based upon facing quote "Three Madison Bumgarners" instead of one. Still feel like that's quite a slight against him. And the results clearly prove that assumption wrong. So hats off again.

Does anybody remember the uproar in the All Star Voting a few months ago because 8 Royals and Mike Trout were the leading AL votegetters? Turns out that was all justified.

I had some time to my hands to research this. World Series winners who made the Post Season the following season (since 2009)
New York Yankees 2009 ---> Made the Post Season in 2010, lost the ALCS in six games against the Texas Rangers San Francisco Giants 2010 ---> Didn't make the Post Season in 2011 St. Louis Cardinals 2011 ---> Made the Post Season in 2012, lost the NLCS in seven games against the San Francisco Giants San Francisco Giants 2012 ---> Didn't make the Post Season in 2013 Boston Red Sox 2013 ---> Didn't make the Post Season in 2014 San Francisco Giants 2014 ---> Didn't make the Post Season in 2015
If this trend continues, don't expect the Royals to make the post season in 2016. As I said before, 2016 is going to be a very interesting season.
I expect the season opener between the Royals and Mets to draw good ratings.
