Shawn Michaels was the special guest on this week’s edition of “The Ross Report,” hosted by Jim Ross, and the subject of WWE wanting Michaels to return to the company in an in-ring capacity came up.
When asked by JR if WWE might try to get guys like him and Steve Austin to appear at WrestleMania 32 since it’s in Texas, Michaels answered simply by saying “I’ve already had an offer. I’ve enjoyed being retired.”
An offer to appear at WrestleMania 32 is apparently not the only thing WWE has asked Michaels, as HBK revealed he has also been asked to be a part of the WWE creative team.
“It wouldn’t be a great fit for me,” Michaels admitted. “There’d be a lot of stifling going on. I’ve been able to sway them on things other people couldn’t. I’d be open to the Pat Patterson gig, where you have a couple of projects and you could write in from home about it. If you’re going to be there every week, you might as well go back and be an on-air character and make more money.”

Good. Can't a guy just retire in peace? Went out on his own terms which despite a strong dislike of the guy in the past, is so damn respectable.

It was probably a HBK vs Bryan match or They want him to retire Taker.
I don't blame him for turning down either.

He'd probably be just as good as he was before he left.

If Shawn Michaels isn't going to wrestle, and they can't talk Austin into wrestling either, I don't think they stand a chance to get 100k people at WM32.
You would need:
Sting vs. Undertaker Austin vs. Hogan Rock vs. Triple H Ronda Rousey vs. Stephanie Shawn Michaels vs. Daniel Bryan?
I think with those names and those match ups, you might stand a chance. But if HBK won't do it and Austin says no and then legally if you can't get Ronda Rousey.....no way they get 100K.

Lol we're a long long ways from Mania 32. I'm willing to bet he'll be back. They'll make him an offer and his ego won't let him say no.

HBK had the second best retirement of all time (Flair) so I'd hate to see them ruin that.

Hopefully Stone Cold vs Cena happens at WM32. Where in that interview with Ross does HBK state he turned down WM32?

Doubt they'll get Austin for Wrestlemania, apparently Austin/WWE aren't on good terms

Michaels retired Flair, and Flair wrestled again after that. As much as I like Flair, that was disrespectful to Michaels. If Michaels were to wrestle again, it would be disrespectful to 'Taker. So no, he shouldn't come out of retirement again.

I honestly think the main selling point of Wrestlemania 32 will be Undertaker's retirement match and induction to the hall of fame.
Maybe Austin will be the Wrestlemania host? Seems like a viable way of booking him into the card without working. Seems clear from his podcast that he has no interest at all in working. Austin sets an extremely high standard for himself and he's been out of the ring almost as long as the time he spent in it.
I don't expect Michaels to perform at WM32 but it really irks me when people say he shouldn't "dishonour" his retirement.

I'm glad. I do hope they get Austin though, but only if he's in any shape to work.
