what gives?
Is it really a distribution issue or are they still working out the kinks in the figure?
That figure has looked ready for retail for quite some time now. Hell, even the first proto revealed at SDCC looked more final production than Razor did at that time.
I don't understand the push out to August.

Probably the coat. I'm hoping they don't end up scrapping it and going with a plastic coat just to get it out quicker.
For 24.99, or possibly more if prices go up again soon, it needs to have the cloth coat. If it has a rubber coat, it's not worth the extra money and could have been a Flashback Elite.
Razor and Hogan were great figures, but not worth 24.99 when you look at the awesome robe Flair came with at the same price.

As long as it's not cancelled, I no longer care about the delay haha I heard it was scrapped on Facebook... But I don't want to believe it. Wish MattelDesignTeam would come on here and say "it's cancelled", or "it's for sure coming"

I wouldn't think it'll be cloth, it should be as close to the leather one he's known for or not at all. And rubber is closer to leather than cloth is

... And then RSC tweets about the Sting pre order.
I'm sure it's coming, I'd like to know why it's taking so long though

However a few people that buy Mattel direct as well were all told they can't purchase Sting because it's cancelled

I don't know why you're second guessing the distribution delay. I'm guessing a lot of stores still have Hogan, Flair, and Razor figures in stock and don't want to order the next figure until it has sold.
It's one of the same issues that the Defining Moments line had the first time around.

I believe bill said in a recent Q&A that the DMs were doing better and will continue through 2016 as he's already working on those

It's a case of waiting and seeing what happens. Nobody really knows except Mattel, so we can all comment but it's practically meaningless. I hope that Sting isn't cancelled!

On the other hand, every store I check within a two hour radius has entire pegs filled with the previous figures. If MDT isn't careful with the distribution, this reboot of the series won't last.

Where are you? I'm in northern VA and all stores sold out of and stop carrying Flair back in Dec. Hogan sold out around March and just last Thuraday my Target had about 6 Razor's and as of last night they were sold out. So, they seem to be doing extremely well in my area.

There are at least 7 Hogans and 10 Razors in my smyths last time I was in there. TRU near me had 3 Razors so they are clogging up the UK a little too

It should come with two pairs of arms (one bare, one jacket arms) and a removable duster.

No way it's cancelled. Especially after showing off the proto so many times.
