Curious, to those of you who no longer play with your WWE figures, what made you stop?
Did you feel you were too old or did it just stop being fun?
I played with mine until I was about 17. My fed was a mixture of Hasbros, He-Man, Ninja Turtles, and Marvel figures for many years. Then, the Jakks BCA figures came out and I started collecting and playing with them exclusively. I never could quite put my finger on why, but my passion for playing did not transfer from my old fed to my new one and I ended up selling the figures and dropping out of collecting for many years.

Not wanting to destroy them, preserving sweet paint jobs. In a way I play with them through pictures but I wouldn't really call that playing with them

I stopped playing with them probably around 17 as well. I had a lot of fun creating dream match-ups of WWF and ECW figures primarily. I had a few WCW figures, but that really wasn't my bag. I guess the reason I stopped was I just got old, started working more in high school to pay for college and didn't have as much time to dedicate to playing with toys. I guess in some way too the magic just wasn't there any more. I stopped collecting shortly after I stopped playing with them for about 10 years until last year.

Just kind of stopped. No real reason.

I'm currently 17 and I still play with mine. However recently a bunch of figures I've bought have loose limbs, along with older 2010-2011ish figures. It's becoming a bit of a nuisance and sucks because of existing storylines I had with them but I honestly don't see myself stopping until I go away for college.

Own my home, have a beautiful girl, work, etc and I'm 28 years old. I still have at least a few matches a week. If u enjoy it, continue doing so.....if it ever seems unenjoyable, then stop. Don't let a made up culture make your choices for you.

I was so excited to start collecting them, so the first day I bought Bret Hart, Razor Ramon, Goldust and Ultimate Warrior. I got home and one of Warrior's legs was so wobbly that he couldn't stand. One of Bret's arms was so loose that it just hung there. Both of Razor's arms were loose. Goldust was the best of the lot but he was fairly loose as well. They improved over time but that first lot was just discouraging.

Don't let a made up culture make your choices for you. Absolutely. Action figures are simply story props for the imagination, and if the creative juices are still flowing then by all means entertain it. I have done the wrestling video games but it's just not the same. Many times I have wished I could go back to playing with my figures like when I was kid and really love it, but it's like I don't know how to play with them anymore.

They are at my grandmother's house and I live on my own about 3 hours away. But seriously, the original reason is that I got old The way I always did it up until about 2010 was I would create a theoretical show and put guys together, setting the pairings or whatever off to the side of the ring. Some of the best were my crazy Jakks classics shows that would go for hours. Eventually that became a bit of a chore and I would do little segments of matches and finishes. In Rumbles I would magically skip from the very beginning to the very end, lots of very quick and senseless eliminations to get there. Sometimes guys would be taken out of the crate only to immediately be tossed out. Eventually the ring got to be too much to deal with - although I want the blue cage ring. Finally it got to the point of just mucking about. I will say this though, every so often a 5-star classic finds it's way out. About 6 months ago I had a crazy (ringless) casket match between Bryan and E 31 Kane. It got so crazy that Bryan would pull off Kane's mask and smash his head with a chair while he was draped over the casket. The finish came when after several near finishes, Undertaker popped out of the casket and helped Kane finish off Bryan, setting up Mania with Taker vs Bryan(which never ended up happening, as this was a standalone match). Its nice to know its still in there somewhere, even though its largely over.

My figures just sit in a big bin, I don't even know why I collect anymore tbh I'm in the same boat. I like displaying them sometimes, but they don't see the light of day as often as they did. I want to sell them, but I feel like there would be a lot of immediate regret if I did that. What's worst is that I still get the new stuff, but as soon as I open the boxes, I take a good look at them and they get zip-locked and stored. I guess I just like having them. To the point of this thread though. I used to play with my Jakks figures until high school ended. Once I got a car, life became fuzzy if you know what I mean... I sold my entire Jakks collection in one shot for $400 back in 2009 and cleaned up my act; I was having a baby girl. It wasn't until 2011, when my boy was born, did I get back into collection wrestling figures. I have two chairs that my son was teething on locked up in a fake dictionary. You can see the chew marks !! Anyways, I guess freedom from home is the biggest reason I stop playing with toys!

I just no longer derived joy from physically playing. I was probably around 16 or so years old. I still mess with my figures every day. And I have since the days when I had stopped playing. I will never grow tired of monkeying about with them or looking at them, I just simply stopped with the full on imagination and storylines thing. I even had a roommate at one point who collected and we would have nerdy pose-offs but no imagination stuff.

I get so excited about hunting for them, buying them, and unboxing. I unbox and then there's always a bit of an anti-climax, but before I know it I'm on eBay hunting bargains again. With my last collection, I think I hurt myself by buying too many figures at once instead of pacing myself. This time I'm just grabbing one here and there, kind of like a treat to myself, and it's been more enjoyable. Since I've opened up my collection to basics, I've also found myself playing out some matches here and there without fear of breaking or blemishing an elite.

I still play with them from time to time. However I know there will one day come a time when I stop, but until then I will enjoy playing with my figures.
