Okay, so last night i bought an e33 batista at a shopko. It was discounted to $9.99. I already have it, but bought it to return to walmart and exchange it for a figure i dont have. Is this ok to do in your opinion?
So, in short i paid $10 for it at shopko and plan on returning it to a walmart for $21 store gift card which i will use to purchase a different elite.
So, in theory its a win win for everyone. Shopko got their asking price, walmart gets a figure which they will sell for $21, and i get a figure i want.

You didn't buy it at Walmart, so in my opinion no it isn't.
But whatever you think is right bro.

Absolutely not. I'm reporting you for theft to the local authorities.

Maybe someone else remembers this also, but I think I remember reading people got a warning or banned for posting things like this back with the Jakks CS days. I could be wrong but I thought I remember something like that happening.

On the one hand, Wall Mart has a lax return/ exchange policy. They agreed to the exchange in the hopes that you would return their kindness by purchasing items from them in the future. In that sense, they're okay with it so it's okay.
On the other hand, you have broken an unspoken contract with the rest of society to play by the rules. You deliberately gamed the system to your own advantage. What if someone was willing to purchase whatever figure you ended up with at Wall Mart's asking price? You hurt them, so in that sense it isn't okay.
I guess the determining factor would be how you feel about it.

Don't you need a receipt to bring it back to walmart? Walmart is notorious for accepting returns w/o a receipt. When my husband worked there, customer service actually accepted a return of a coffee maker (w/o a box or anything) that had a yard sale sticker on it. To the original poster, I say it's not okay to do.
