"Bryan Alvarez reported on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live that Kevin Owens has been moved out of his main event position to an upper mid-card position following his loss to John Cena at WWE Battleground. He pointed out that Owens was one of the mid/lower-card WWE Superstars that helped break up the fight between Brock Lesnar and Undertaker on Monday’s RAW.
Alvarez compared Owens to the likes of Rusev, Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler and said he’s not on the level of Cena, Randy Orton or Seth Rollins." nodq.com
Yup... Looks like Kevin Owens will have a dancing gimmick with Hornswoggle before we know it.

I don't know who Bryan Alvarez is. I suppose he thinks he knows stuff.

I posted this in the other Owens thread. Dave Meltzer reported this on his podcast.

Makes sense. Let him win a few mid card feuds before he gets the main event push.

In other words, what I said in the other thread came true.
WWE had no plans for him after losing to Cena and don't have any idea what to do with him now.
He was booked too strong to be a midcarder and not good enough to be a main eventer. Therefore, he's in limbo with nothing to do.

Sheamus is Mr. Money in the bank and he was out there so it's not like it was just a bunch of irrelevant scrubs that went to stop the fight.

Sounds to me like someone saw Owens helping in the brawl and made a wild speculation. Cynics cling to it and next thing ya know, it's a fact.

I don't know who Bryan Alvarez is. I suppose he thinks he knows stuff. Bryan Alvarez runs Figure 4 Weekly, which partnered up with Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He's probably one of the few legit sources when it comes to wrestling news.

I could also see this. Owens over Finn at the Takeover event. Owens returns to NXT and Finn goes to the main roster for a mega push. Owens stays in NXT for another 6 momths putting on classic matches and having a great championship reign. Then Owens retuns to the main roster at the Rumble!

Cynics cling to it and next thing ya know, it's a fact. it's actually not that wild of a speculation - if you look at moments when 'the locker room empties', they usually leave behind their top faces and heels. this isn't just a wwe thing - this happened across the board in pro wrestling for a long time and psychologically makes a lot of sense. not saying it's the nail in the coffin for owens, but it's worthy of noting.

Still seems like some guess work was involved. I highly doubt WWE goes around telling people who is being demoted.

Cena lost to a mid-carder?!?!?!
The Internet was right about Cena. He sucks. He loses to mid-carders.

So all that crap with John Cena was for nothing? I hope that's not the case. WWE Creative writers suck!

Just seeing Kevin Owens in the Taker/Brock brawl trying to hold Lesnar back just kind of reaffirmed my feeling on Owens becoming just another guy.
Would have been great if Cena vs Owens III ended up with a non-finish involving Rsuev and Cesaro, since Owens screwed them out of beating Cena for the title. Then, at SummerSlam, have a Fatal 4 Way between Rusev, Cesaro, Owens, and Cena for the US Title and Owens wins the title without having to pin Cena.

Owens wasn't a main event guy anyway, he was upper mid card to begin with.

He is just going to have to prove himself continuously as someone that deserves to be put in the upper card scene. If he keeps delivering against a variety of opponents I like to think that his rewards will come. We all have to remember he has only been part of the company for around a year. He has a lot to offer, it just takes time.
I am hopeful...
