I said before, that if this Venom movie tanks, I don't see Marvel using the symbiote for a very long time. Seeing Infinity War here in an hour. Excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time. Just realized my opinion on the Venom movie was deleted. Odd. Didn't say anything horrible. Agreed 100%. If it does well, Kevin will find a way to incorporate it into the MCU. If it tanks, then we’re not seeing the symbiotes in the MCU for a long time, if ever. I honestly feel that they had no plans to use the symbiotes for a long, long time in the MCU before Sony announced this. Based on Homecoming, it seemed like they wanted to focus on building towards a Sinister Six showdown (Vulture and Scorpion teasing a future alliance).

I just got home. I’m in awe. Need to digest it a bit more. There was A LOT to take in. Not sure I’ve ever felt like this after a movie.

Just came back home from seeing it and damn the movie was insane. I can't wait for part 2, also there's still a lot of people at the theaters and a lot of the showings were sold out. Infinity War will most likely be the top grossing film ever.

Infinity War will most likely be the top grossing film ever. Actually, the next and last one will be the biggest movie ever. IW for the most part, lived up to the hype and ended with a major cliffhanger. That right there is a recipe for shattering the previous films success. I wouldn't be surprised to see it get $300M the first weekend, and beat any other record its predecessor holds.

It broke domestic and global opening weekend records, out pacing Force Awakens domestically and passing F8 globally by a mile (< that's a car joke). It hasn't opened in China yet, either. www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=4393&p=.htmThe actuals come out later today. The numbers could end up being higher. I think the key with this one is that it has incredibly high repeat viewing potential. I saw it twice over the weekend. There stands a pretty good chance I see it at least one more time before it leaves theaters. It's a great theater movie experience. I don't see this as something even casual movie goers will want to skip out on. Everyone is rewarded here and for that I think it passes Force Awakens.

I'm glad it's doing so well. They deserve it all IMO.
I plan on seeing it again next weekend. I like to give it some time in between viewings to let things simmer.

Domestic number came in at $257m and the global at $640m. Both higher than originally reported. It out performed The Force Awakens by $10m-ish over the first 3-days domestically. Notable, given TFA is the highest grossing domestic film of all time (not accounting for inflation of course). So it's off to a good start.

I would do ANYTHING if it could knock Avatar off of the top spot. That movie was meh at best and it'll teach James Cameron for running his mouth about the Superhero genre.

I hate Avatar, I never saw it as anything other than a CGI fans wet dream. I'm with you, I cannot stand Avatar. It was a highly predictable movie with a theme used in movies for decades. BUT......Infinity War was the epitome of a CGI fans wet dream. Nearly everything in the movie including it's main character is all CGI. Characters, vfx, locations, costumes, everything is CGI now a days. I would say Avatar was a 3-D lover's dream.

Been on a bit of a marvel spree. Avengers, Cap First Avenger, Ragnarok, Guardians 1 and 2... it’s been fun. Watched Civil War, too.

What do you do when you have a bigger budget? You hire Céline Dion obviously...
