Two people( one male, one female ) shot at a holiday party and killed 14 people and wounded 21. The shooting occurred around 11AM PT on 12/2/2015 at a building that was hosting a Holiday Party. I've been watching this all unfold on CNN all day yesterday and today. Both suspects who opened gunfire have been shot and killed during a manhunt by police. Information continues to come out and the investigation continues as the FBI and the rest of the authorities try to find the motive of what triggered the two people to shoot and kill innocent people. It's horrible stuff. This is occurring way to often and I find it scary. Not yet known if the two people had anything to do with ISIS. My thoughts are with those innocent families who were affected by this horrific event. Here is a better article for those interested: www.cnn.com/2015/12/03/us/san-bernardino-shooting/index.html

Horrible. Completely horrible. I wouldn't be surprised if those two had a connection to isis.

I live 15 min away from there, so I've been hearing about it all day. Everybody was on lockdown yesterday nobody was allowed out or in any buildings.

I have to be honest... I'm tired of having the gun debate. I think both sides are wrong. One side wants more guns because they think they live in an action movie. The other side wants to remove all guns from society because they think magic exists. We just keep going back and forth and nothing gets done. Until we start having an adult conversation about this, these shootings are going to keep happening and more people will die.

If people want guns for hunting or protection, that's their right. HOWEVER...a line needs to be drawn on what types of guns people should realistically be able to purchase and own.
If I'm a hunter....it should be limited to single shot rifles.
If I'm getting a gun for home protection or personal protection, it should limited to handguns.
I don't think there is any realistic reason why any private citizen should have a need to own these machine guns. The more powerful the gun, the more ability it has to be used in a mass shooting.
They should also track/limit how many rounds people buy in a year....if you have a cache of 6000+ rounds of ammo, like these people did, then you're probably up to something.
Handguns and low grade weapons are RARELY used in these mass shootings because they just aren't powerful enough or able to hold as many rounds....it's always these lunatics with machine guns.

It would be almost impossible to track that

It would be almost impossible to track that You're never going to be able to stop all possible situations....but it's really funny how when you look at the majority of these mass shootings, all of the weapons/ammo was purchased LEGALLY. SO nobody is watching what anybody is buying, but 12 hours after this guys comitts the crime, they were able to compile a spreadsheet of every weapon and round he ever purchased and what date and time the purchase occured. We need to stop realizing this stuff AFTER the fact that somebody was slowly compiling an arsenal and have safe guards in place to notice it BEFORE hand. Like you said, you're never going to stop people who make their own stuff, you're never going to stop black market stuff. And like I said, I think it really boils down to how powerful the weapons are. People cry about violating the costitution....but those people don't UNDERSTAND the constitution. People had the right to bare arms as part of a well organized militia, and it was written at a time when you had weapons that fired one shot at a time and took 37 minutes to reload. I don't think something written that long ago should apply to an AR15 assault rifle. No non-military/police person needs to own that.

I agree no private citizen needs an AR15 or an AK47 or anything high powered like that to me those are for military and swat teams and things like that the thought of some random joe shmoe off the street walking around with one is kinda scary

No one can legally purchase an AK47, or any fully auto weapon for that matter, anywhere in the US.
People need to stop being afraid when these things happen. That is how we got the Patriot Act.

There is now currently an investigation into whether the husband and wife couple who did the shooting, who are Muslims, are affiliated with ISIS.
