I've noticed this getting worse over the last five years. The number of people on social media / forums that seemingly read nothing before they comment. So with that being said.
Do you
Read all posts in a thread
Read most of them
Read the OP and quick post
Simply curious to see the outcome.
98% of the time I read/skim all posts in a thread before posting.

Interesting thread. I usually just read the op post, maybe the following 2 comments, and then post.

Wow, I've observed this as well, just never thought to make a thread about it. I always read most of, if not all the posts in a thread before I reply. I am seeing if anyone answered my question or if they said something I was going to say before I post. I enjoy reading others thoughts and opinions
Unfortunately, sometimes I do this and I get off track by comments made by ignorant and/or intentionally provocative comments and go off topic.

I read everything before replying. I hate how one person asks a question on here and 10 people answer the same thing in a row.

I brought it up due to a thread I read earlier. Where the correct answer to the question was maybe 3 posts in. But it's on the second page and people are still answering with all kinds of things. Or totally stumped about it.
About 8 years ago there was a guy on a gi joe forum I was at that got booted for it. He kept simply posting what ever after things were answered. Then got defensive when it was brought up and said.
" I don't have to read what anyone else posts and why should i. I'm here to talk to people, so I'll respond with how I feel fit"
So he even made himself sound more dumb than what he was doing. State that you want to discuss things but aren't willing to read anything someone else posts....

But if somebody makes a post asking how to post an image, or anything that is a one answer then the problem is solved kinda deal, 15 people don't need to post how IMG codes work. It's almost as annoying when people reply "I don't know." If you don't know the answer, why are you replying?

Initially just the OP's comment, and if that intrigues me enough to want to comment, I read the following replies to check if someone has said what I'm gonna say or not.

I read everything.
And even then, I may not post.

I'll read everything unless the thread is over five pages long. Then I'll just read the first and last page. If those two pages are really interesting then I might go back and skim though the other pages. The weekly Raw threads are a good example of this.
If someone is asking a question I will look to see if anyone has answered and if so I move on. No need to repeat what someone already said.

I read the OP, post, and then read everyone else replies.

It depends on the thread.
In the lounge I just read the op and post usually.
On the Mattel board I read most of every post in a thread before posting.

If I like the topic I'll read everything. Often times, but not always, if somebody else has already covered my thoughts on the subject pretty well I may not post at all even in agreement, but may just like someones post. If I do post I usually try to make sure what I'm adding is new/different then what's already been stated, contributing new information or just moving along.

I usually read everything unless things get out of hand and people start arguing with long paragraph replies then I just ignore.

On another note, I have this thing where if there is a certain poster or posters that are extremely prolific (for lack of a better term) that I can't gel with, I'll just stop posting there. I have a board to moderate, you know.

If a thread is a couple of pages then I'll usually read all of the replies. If its a PPV thread then I'll read most of the time I'll just read the last page.
I can't stand it when someone asks a question and it followed by five different people give the same answer. If one of those replies has additional info or can add to the discussion then its fine.

I read nothing. I let others do it for me and let them report the stupid stuff.
...oh...oh wait I wasn't supposed to say that out loud was I...?
I READ EVERYTHING I PROMISE! Please don't fire me.

Depends on what the subject of the thread is. If it's a "your opinion" kind of thread or one that I can offer a differing perspective I will just read the OP first before responding and then read the other comments after. If it's an "I need help with something" thread I'll read the whole thing to see if the answer's been addressed and if not then I'll post my two cents. On social media like Facebook I tend to only comment on people that make just ridiculous remarks when they themselves are commenting on something they did not completely read. In conclusion, the internet is a cesspool of stupidity and the cure is to just ing be more careful when you're reading things.

Depends. I read if I'm interested in the topic.
