I honestly didn't care for the match. There were a lot of botches and Jericho is just so meh at this point.

I missed the match but always enjoyed AJ styles matches and look forward to seeing what he can do with other WWE talent.

I thought it was an OK match. The commercial break never helps. It kills momentum and tension. It felt slow, and I'll attribute that to Jericho mostly.

None taken really. I've been to some dud shows in the past, but the live factor always made up for it. I've been in person for special moments (last live WWE matches for Hulk and also Flair; Angle-Benoit, Rumble 03), but not all have been blow away. Again, seeing shows live is special in itself. Angle/Benoit was heaps better than Styles/Jericho. Which I don't think last night's match was supposed to be two guys giving everything they have. Hence AJ no hitting either finisher of his to win. I've seen some great matches live, but they haven't been WWE matches. Those shows are usually garbage. The last two WWE shows I attended were the 2008 Slammy Awards RAW and the RAW in Philly where the Nexus attack Ricky Steamboat. This was a 2-hour RAW in June of 2010, featuring less than 30 minutes of actual wrestling. If I remember well, the first match never even started. I swore then, that it'd take a LOT to get me back to live WWE event again. I wasn't saying Angle-Benoit was by any means less than Styles-Jericho. However, Angle-Benoit will be tarnished for me, only because I can't bring myself to watch it again, for obvious reasons. Just a me thing.

I feel I've always been a part of wrestling history (not always in a good sense). 1) Was there when nWo Hall and Nash took apart Rey Mysterio, Scotty Riggs, Arn Anderson. It was the Nitro where Mysterio was thrown like a dart into a trailer. Never saw it until I watched the recording because WCW didn't believe in telling the fans what happened or in titantrons. Sat outside of Disney's MGM Studios for30 minutes with no action. 2) Was there when Jeff Jarrett laid down for Hulk Hogan; Russo "shoot" 3) Was there for AJ Style's first match in WWE. Number 3 Ranks High I know how you feel about being there to witness wrestling history. I was there live for the Katie Vick episode of Raw.

I can agree on that but AJ is a speedy worker so I'm sure Jericho had to slow him down more. I can barely watch those shows myself. Too much flippity flop and not enough psychology my taste.

This has been one of my biggest "Dream Match" for more then a decade now.It was cool to see those two finally meet in the ring but the match was as great as it should have been,it was good. But what I hated was giving away Styles/Jericho on free TV and for Styles 1st true WWE Match. This should have been built up more as a big deal and saved for a PPV and I was personally hoping for Wrestlemania but would have even settled for Fastlane.AJ first match in WWE as someone else pointed out should have been with a guy like Neville that can go at a similar pace or Alberto Del Rio the guy I would have pick.Putting him with ADR would have been a very good match up and would have gotten a little rub by still beating a former WWE Champion and main eventer in ADR while also not giving away a "Dream Match" like Styles/Jericho for free.

I agree it was a cool moment, and I marked out when they announced the match. My only complaint is that Jericho should've taken the styles clash, not that roll up nonsense.

I can't help but feel you provided no real experience to us from being there, other than you enjoyed it? I'm glad you enjoyed it?
I'm sure it was awesome to see live, and hopefully they can keep this up for as long as possible.

Is there some kind of competition in this thread to see who can be the biggest dick?
Who cares if the match wasn't a 5 star classic. It was a hell of a moment, and I would've loved to of seen it live.

I hope he comes to WF and gives each and every one of them a personal insult.

I thought it was a good match, but it wasn't amazing. My only concern is WWE having AJ Styles tone down his wrestling style to only 5-7 moves like Daniel Bryan. The only live match I saw AJ Styles was when he faced Sting at BFG 09.

I was only trying to convey that it felt pretty damn special to be present for a rare first-ever match (including a guy I never thought would work for the company), when I could've just as easily had sat through three hours of stale story lines and boring bouts.

Awesome that you got to see this live. Honestly though, I read a different take on the booking and liked it more. Havr AJ beat someone like Neville in a competitive match. Then Jericho would show up and basically saying that beating Neville is one thing but he has to prove himself against Jericho. They could then hype/promote AJ/Jericho for a week. The problem with that is I don't think they are looking to do a story between them, which doing that would've done. They were looking to do a dream match because who knows how long Jericho will be around, and also continued in on Jericho's slow burn heel turn.

I personally think the reason he hasn't hit it yet is because they are still deciding whether or not they are going to let him use it in wwe.

This is so awesome man. I saw AJ and Joe tear INTO each other about ten years ago. I wanted to take pics so bad but I wouldn't be able to handle the fact that I missed a split second of pure awesomeness. AJ Styles is in WWE. It still hasn't sunk in yet. AJ Styles and Samoa Joe are both in the WWE... Just thinking about THAT blows my freaking mind! Haha.
