As great as HOF line was, what a waste Series 4 is...

Let me start by saying that ever since it was announced, the Hall Of Fame line has been my favorite line of Mattel figures. First, I'm a legends only collector and I only collect figures that wrestled primarily from 1988 through 1998. This was my favorite time period of the WWF and I loved the characters, but I digress...
The Hall Of Fame series 1 through 3 had some real gems in it. The WrestleMania IX Hogan, Sgt. Slaughter, SummerSlam '90 Warrior and Macho King all stand out to me. These were all attires that had been highly sought and Mattel knocked it out of the park with all of them (and for those of you that are gonna reply and say the Hogan was too skinny, you're dead wrong and probably never even saw 1993 Hulkster on TV; it's as accurate as can be minus the black eye).
With that said, series 4 was a complete disappointment to me. Admittedly, Edge in camo is probably the most requested figured but since that's not part of my collection, I couldn't care less. Even still though, did Mattel get this one right for those of you that did want it? I'm not so sure.
A re-release of Booker T and George Steele, yawn and wtf? You wanna re-release something Mattel, do it in a new line as "Classic Mattels" or something. Hell, if it's a cost thing, I'd have been happy if they used the obviously approved new line of WWE Network Spotlight branding to use exclusively for re-releases like Boss Man, Booker T, Cactus Jack, Booker T and now George Steele. And put Helmsley, Shawn from SS 95 in the Elite line. I'm not against the idea of re-releases as I understand Mattel wants to capitalize on high after-market prices, but I am against the idea when it comes at the repeated expense of additional legends/flashbacks/HOF line. Two re-releases in the already limited release schedule of 8 figures per year. Geez, thanks Mattel. And who the hell was breaking down the doors for George Steele anyway? Boss Man, Booker and Cactus I get (though of course, they screwed the pooch with that one), but George Steele? Wake up Mattel.
Lastly, there's Jake. Not a Jake with black tights, teal tights, a different color of green tights or even pink/purple WrestleMania VI tights that would've made people happy. No, we get the couldn't-be-further-from-Jake's-color of white tights (and not the WrestleMania VIII version either). Stupid stupid stupid. Oh and did I mention that was a followup to another Jake that inexplicably had yellow tights that nobody asked for.
If the previously mentioned HOF Hogan, Slaughter, Warrior and Savage were homeruns, these figures were strikeouts on three pitches so bad they're thinking about sending their ass back to the minors. Maybe they even got hit by the pitch but still swung, they're that bad. Here's to hoping Mattel and Bill, or whomever is responsible MattelDesignTeam get their heads out of the sand for series 5 ...
Look at my post and thread history to know that I'll be the first to praise Mattel when they do something good, and they've done plenty of good in the 6 years of the WWE license, but when they screw up, man do they do it on an embarrassingly big scale.
