Hello to all the members. I'm a french collector and almost never post although i am on the forum all the time. I need some room in my apartment so i decided to open my Elite Yoko i bought a few years ago. Was very excited until i took off his fabric cloth and saw the awful stains allover his arms and legs. That's just ruined my figure. (It looks like Yoko have ugly tattoos all over his body...) Before this i always thought that plastic clothes sucked because figure cant't move with them and that they are difficult to take off. You can imagine that i totally changed my mind yesterday. I couldn't imagine that fabric stains could be such big (i have a zack rider with small stains but that's ok for me). Here in France we didn't have WWE mattel figures for almost 3 years (fortunately Toys R us has started to sell them again a few weeks back). Yoko was one of the last i saw at retail until that long break. I don't know if can ask something from mattel, don't think so unfortunately. So just wanted to share this with you and know who prefers plastic or fabric clothes.

Bit of acetone should work. Break out the missus nail polish remover.

Same thing happened to my elite 15 Yoko man. Unfortunately there isn't anything that you can do to get it removed.

Strange, none of my figures have staining. The closest is my Steamboat but it's barely noticeable.
Then again I make an effort to rinse out any excess dye

Acetone does NOT work on this
It's stained through the plastic. Nothing will get it out
I bought a yokozuna loose with no stains and put the robe on him in my display case thinking it would be fine. 6 months later , I took the robe off and my yokozuna looked the same as this. Such a disappointment

Wash your cloth accessories. A lot of people, myself included, like cloth accessories.
Also, here's your chance to practice mixing paints. Trial and error until you get the skin color right. Good luck.

Then again I make an effort to rinse out any excess dye And it sounds like you open your figure then display. If this guy just opened a yoko, that means it's been in box, wearing the robe for how long? While I agree, I've never had an issue. Some people are going to . When you buy an old figure you didn't get, or simply open the one you've had for 4 years.

I guess your best bet would be the get a HOF Yoko and maybe swap the lower legs and arms?

My DM Flair already had alot of minor staining straight out of the box brand new. Ive learned too that washing the clothes gets in some warm water in a bowl gets rid of alot of excess dye. Ive done that to all cloth items to help prevent further damage.

Always wash the frabric before putting it on figures. The excess dye will dye through the plastic.

This is a terrible opinion, and I don't agree with it.

Yeah, I never liked the cloth apparel, either. To me they always look oversized and cheaply made. I don't open my Elite figures, and the rubber attire looks better while kept inside their box.

I've noticed that many people have the same problem with this Yokozuna in particular, which is a shame because it really is one of Mattel's finest.
Like mentioned above, you're best swapping parts with the HOF Yoko. Does it have stains on the back too?

Soaking the fabric in a cup of warm water over night drains the dye. Pj noted this trick. It's great. I'd be ok with Mattel doing away with all shirt/robe accessories completely whether they are cloth or plastic and put more budget into tooling unique parts

The only figure I've ever had that issue with was the Legends Rick Martel. I still prefer the cloth stuff over the plastic stuff though.

I like both. Depends on the detail.
But I do prefer the cloth for t-shirts shirts.
