It's like they're trying to replicate the whole Daniel Bryan ordeal.

Did people just start watching WWE? Did you not see the past couple years where the face of WCW (a non WWE creation) was treated completely like crap? Im trying to think..Did Sting ever even win a match? You really thought the WWE was going to take AJ Styles, the face of TNA, and put him on a pedestal like he was a God?

This commercial from a few years ago is how I picture the creative team for WWE.

How are they really ing up AJ Styles though?? Vince has made a history of bringing in top stars from other promotions (Big Show, Booker T, Benoit, Jericho, Goldberg) and job them out and re-build them in his creation and in his eyes and push them to the main event. It's what Vince does. Plus AJ Styles was in the main event, losing to Kevin Owens. If AJ Styles beat Kevin Owens, I am sure a lot of fans here would be like, "Dammit, they are burying Owens!" It's like we can't find a happy medium anymore as a wrestling fan.

Really its been piss poor booking of Styles ever since Payback
— was getting beat up week after week by Reigns with no real return offense until it was too late — looked incredibly weak after beating the hell out of 3 guys only to lose to one spear — and tonight really drove his direction off the cliff
Whoever thought that promo before his match and subsequent sudden loss to Owens clean was the way to go, clearly has no idea what they're doing
Should have nixed the promo with Anderson/Gallows (because in reality it pretty much made Styles sound kind of heelish and whiny that it was the Clubs fault that he lost by the end of it) And instead just had the two of them cost Styles the match and claim that he's grown weak since Japan, being unable to beat Reigns at back to back PPV's even with their help. (Since it seems like they are heading in that direction anyways)
A clean Owens/Styles match imo is something that should have been saved for a PPV, not in a throwaway qualifying match on Raw where you know it won't lead to anything or even be remembered in a few month's time.

I seriously don't get how AJ is being ruined. The only match i thought he should have won was Mania against Jericho. I'm liking AJ and how he's being used. I tend to keep my hopes super low when it comes to wrestling. It's made me enjoy it more or at the most, tolerate it to where I'm not s***ing on it constantly. I get why AJ lost tonight. There's a story with him and the Club coming up, so I'll wait what happens before i crap on it. You know when he's being "buried"? When he's jobbing to guys like Rusev and Del Rio clean for no reason, with no justifiable reason for the lost. I still don't get why most wrestling fans misuse the word buried. I guess if AJ loses to Seth one day in a match on RAW, i guess fans will say he's buried, even if he gets a lot of offense in and it looke like he could have won.

I am thoroughly convinced that WWE only hires ex-TNA talent to bury them completely just to send a message to Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett.
Gail Kim jobbing to Diva Search contestants Sting basically only being hired so they could sell his action figures AJ Styles jobbing to everyone Samoa Joe stuck in NXT
It all reeks of "f*** you TNA"

TNA's women's division in 2007-2008 was taking so many shots at WWE Divas it was ridiculous. The "Divas Revolution" was basically just the Knockouts division from 2007. She might have been hired by WWE first, but she made her name in TNA.

I'm not gonna say he's being buried.....yet. Styles debut and his main event push from post Mania to Extreme Rules kind of reminds me of Chris Beniots initial forays into the main event/world title scene. First losing to the Rock, then his incredible "almost did it" series with Kurt Angle ,to his payoff at Mania XX. I compare those first two examples to his two encounters with Reigns. He's fed to the company posterboy, while simultaneously" almost winning the big one". Of course we don't know if he'll ever get the payoff win like Benoit did,and his age lends me to think its gonna have to happen within a year if its ever going to, but i think the possibility is there. I'd like to think this current storyline ends with the swerve that The Club actually aligns with Rollins and kicks Styles out. Keeping Styles in the mix with Reigns and Rollins and the world title. The only thing that i really don't see as productive booking is him losing cleanly to Owens. K.O going over tonight is fine, but there really needed to be more to it and done a little diffrrently to protect Styles value to the main event scene. Otherwise, I'm willing to wait it out a little longer before pronouncing this a total waste of AJ's talents.

Despite what has happened to Styles recently, I would never have thought that Styles would even be competing for the WWE title in his first 4 months

Why is anyone still surprised when WWE continues to over top level talent?

Where he's actually motivated and over? Not jobbing and stuck on undercard purgetory where quality talent like Neville and Breeze have been stuck? Yep, Joes getting buried alright

The move that took the title from Kurt, the 450 splash is just 'a spot' now instead of a finish. The styles clash is completely ruined after 2 years of no kick outs in NJPW.
