I used to buy everything at retail. On average it would take about three weeks to find what I wanted but it was fun. About a year ago, I had to just start going thru online sources for everything. While retail still has e36 I now have e46. I never even think about retail anymore.

Ive been doing the same, last time I went hunting was for TNF Breeze, every walmart I went to had like 2 figures in the entire store. It looked similar to when WWE left Jakks but you'd still find the occasional 2 pack or irrelevant RA figure on clearance.

To the people in retail or with retail backgrounds. Is that why we are seeing E40/41 at clearance stores like Big Lots? And new Basic series
Because Mattel is producing but big boys like Wal Mart and Target aren't ordering?
That's what it would seem like
Thst sounds like a real problem

I wonder what Bill's thoughts on this are? The retail distribution has been just horrible the entire year. It's so slow, and hit or miss. There's no way this line can be thriving and vital when it has such a stop/start drip of new releases.

Looks like this is a problem everywhere; big cities, suburbs, small towns, etc. I live 5 mins away from NYC in Northern New Jersey and I have the same problem. Targets, Walmarts, TRUs, and multiple ones of each of those stores that are so far behind it's not even funny. The Targets in my particular in my area have had a never-ending line of the same figures from 2 Summer's ago. It's absolutely insane and extremely disappointing.
I'm not going to place blame on anyone in particular because I don't know who is in charge of deciding how often the stores get new figures and all of that, but whoever it is has done an absolutely repugnant job in every sense of the word, bordering on incompetence. I mean, these are not small retailers by any stretch of the imagination. It is not just "one store here and there." It is multiple stores of each franchise retailer. We have reports on this board from all over the country and everyone has the same problem.
It's a disaster. And the fact that it's been this way for awhile now and seemingly no effort has been put in to fix it is extremely pathetic. They've had time. It's not like this is some new phenomenon.

I posted something similar to this a few weeks ago.
It's been a horrible year for elites at retail. Near me Targets are clearing out the elites. Some have elites for 12.80, others for about 10 dollars, and some have gotten rid of every last elite they had. So seeing this I can only assume Target is done with regular elites. And the Horseman 4 packs are 15 dollars, that's insane. Just thinking about how I spent 100 dollars to get two sets when they first came out drives me nuts.
Toys R Us have some elites, but it's always a toss up. I see lots of the Dean Ambrose with two nightsticks, Sid, and various different elites from about 4 sets back. I see TRU is focusing in on the spotlight figures a lot more, which is sad because HHH is clogging pretty badly at most TRU I know of.
Walmart is a lost cause for me. There are only 3 Walmarts in the city of Chicago. All 3 are small stores compared to what is around the country. All 3 have tiny, condensed toy sections. It's rare to find figures at those 3. Other Walmarts in suburbs and neighboring counties are always a toss up. They might be clogged with old figures or they might have remnants of newer lines.
I dont get it. If you have a line up of 6 characters in a set, and often times one of those 6 lingers in store for months, WHY? Why would you think it's a good idea to reduce the number of characters in a lineup? Target and Walmart decided to do exclusive sets with 4 characters to a set and TRU is doing 1 character to a set. How does this make any sense?
Take Elite 39 for example, Sid has peg warmed. Sid was just 1 out of the 6. Now Look at HHH spotlight, he has peg warmed and he was the only one in the set. How does it make sense to go from a less than 20% chance of releasing a peg warmer to a 100% chance of releasing a peg warmer?

Every Target in Minnesota/North Dakota has officially given up, or they forgot that WWE sells action figures.

In my area in south east Louisiana the places that have gotten new figures the most are gamestop and fye but it not just elites the basic figures are always two or three series behind as well. The only new elite figures that wal mart or target have gotten are defining moments ultimate warrior!!!! They haven't even got American bash sting or cena in yet

I said to someone last month, I think the arse has fallen out of it.
they are releasing TOO MANY figures. Too many Store exclusives.
I'm lucky to have Smyths......but no one is buying. They have a 3 for 2 on now. And you can still buy most of the figures from the last few series.
The Flashbacks from the last 8 series have failed to sell in the UK at Retail price. This was UNHEARD of previously.
I see lots of people selling their collections. I see prices on ebay lower. And I have sold a LOT less loose figures on ebay over the last 4 months, while moving prices down a touch.
Ditch the ".5" series. Ditch the "Network exclusive" Ditch the "You can't buy this unless you live in the good old US of A. Make a DM a DM quality figure. The Warrior is a fantastic figure, but it's too expensive for JUST a figure. As is Cena, as was Razor, etc.
I have to say, the quality of Elite 46 is OUTSTANDING. Accessories. Collectible parts. A return to Cloth clothing in the Elite series. Fantastic.
But people simply can't afford to buy SO many figures. It's Saturating the market.
Hence, in your regional/local US stores you are seeing a backlog. this is the fault of their dated stock keeping systems and distribution, and NO fault of Mattels.
It's also why I badger on in the UK board about supporting Smyths. If a store doesn't shift product, it won't keep stocking it. If you support your local stores, you will reap the dividends. we know Smyths will get it in, so why pay more to get it from Amazon a week early?!?

This post put a thought in my head very quickly once you mentioned E46: have the complaints finally been heard? Are people finally voting with their wallets, as some have said? With stores pushing these figures up past Mattel's suggested msrp to see how much we'll pay while QC issues grow in number, did we finally get what we've been asking for?

Every store/region is different. Always posts about finding new things.
This isn't the reboot ghostbusters merch, mattel has a feel and knows how well wwe figures sell.
You all are over thinking things.

You all are over thinking things. Over the last year and a half I have sold over 1000 figures and accessories. I'm an analyst for a bank and paid to over think......but sometimes, you can't beat just having a good feel for things.
In the past there were decent explanations for certain figures not selling. But I genuinely believe sales are down from having a good look everywhere and hearing the story in the OP more and more.
In the UK an Elite is now 19 pounds. You buy the set that's the same as 137 dollars.
We've had the spotlights, 3 quickfire Elite series + lost legends. and Not even had the TNF. About 30 figures in no time at all. Nearly 700 dollars, JUST on Elites. Plus the readily available Basics, 2 packs and DM's which have been abundant here recently. It's TOO MUCH for your average buyer

I sometimes think Mattel isn't too fault but my TRU has done it in the past and they've stocked up on sets just because one or two guys are selling yet all the legends are stuck there and when a series like Elite 40 came around which 4 or 5 people would of sold they never got them in stock because it was full of legends

You guys know that instead of making these threads, you can search out the stores corporate numbers and make complaints or ask questions and try to actually get something done?
Let's start there.

The other day I went to the nothing toy store. They had nothing on offer. And nothing in stock. So I bought nothing. The quality control was nothing. And the manners of the staff were nothing.
I travelled home with nothing. And then came on here to talk about nothing.
