I was sad when jakks stopped the classic line, they were doing more obscures figs than mattel, remember every 3 or 4 weeks we had survey, and hints before an annoucement of a newly signed old superstars ? Nothing new from the classic line from mattel except for macho, sting, tornado, dragon, zbyzko,... Jakks had some signed but they released like : bj mulligan, vachon bros, pat patterson, arnold skaaland, denis condrey, dino bravo,etc...
If someone took the line from mattel, they will restart all over again the classic line...

WWE will never go back to JAKKS. JAKKS is flourishing with their UFC license that is outselling Mattel WWE figures 10 to 1. Stores are already downsizing their Mattel inventory & shelf space to make room for the next wave of UFC figures. I never get tired of this not really fair! UFC figs were never gonna make it. so many reasons. there is no market for them like classic wrestling figs. most UFC fans started off as adults or older. most of those fans would rather have t-shirts, posters ,and autographs. Wrestling has always made figures to collect. most old school collectors were kids when stated watching and collected figs then whether it was ljn, awa remco, hasbro, wcw galoob, wcwc toybiz, jakks BCA, Jakks RA, Mattel, etc. so LOTS of fans to relive those memories for figures. fighting is also different then pro wrestling as far as playing with the figs. kickboxing and submission/guard play with the figs just isnt that great. you always end up suplexing and piledriving the figs, lol. wrerstling in the more make believe category like Star Wars or gi Joe so kids will want them more. not to mention alot of kids are not even allowed to watch ufc. I dont believe Mattel or anyone could have made that line do well. maybe mcfarlane with statue type figs for adults.

Yeah I actually searched them up after you mentioned to do so & had seen how odd they all looked. Some even looked very scrawny like.

I owned the first Lesnar figure and that's where that collection stopped. While it was interesting they looked so horrible. My brock never was able to stand on its own due to loose ankles.

When Mattel acquired the rights to WWE figures, I said I'd stop collecting. I didn't like the change at all. But dang looking back at Jakks is crazy. The quality, the amount of different characters, the inclusion of NXT and certain legends. Man Mattel has far surpassed Jakks.
I'm willing to be money that there will be at least a 3 year extension after Feb of 2019. Especially if Mattel keeps up with the array of figures. I'd like it if they worked some of the minor kinks. That BP Charlotte was a hot mess! But really it's nit picking.

To the thread originator, had you tried reaching the contact info below? I'm into my elite collection for about $3500 over the last 2 years and I really hope WWE sticks with Mattel for the long haul. I have no idea what the terms of the deal are and I've heard there's a chance they may go back to Jakks. Anyone have any intel on the subject? You can contact Mattel Consumer Service: 1-800-524-8697 Or check the legality of usage of WWE Trademarked products at WWE Copyright : www.wwe.com/main-help/generalfaq/copyrightand if you want a specific answer, you can ask them via e-mail: permission@wwe.com
I had contacted them before, they are responsive to questions (as long as it is legitimate)

I can't pretend to know the bidding prices involved once WWE puts out a Request for proposal, however, Mattel only walks if they loose interest, and as we discussed yesterday I don't see that happening.
