I've heard people say that everyone who boos Roman because it's the "cool" thing to do would cheer him if he turned heel. But that's really not how I feel. Not at all. While I've liked cheering for some heels in the past, I also cheer for good guys I like. How do you feel about Roman as a heel?

I don't boo or cheer him. I'm in the section that doesent care one way or the other wether he's heel or face. It is nice to see him out of the title picture though...

to be used like he should, he has to be a heel
he, alongside The Miz, can be legit heat magnets given the right material; Roman would have an easier time at doing it

I think Roman is far better in the ring than he's given credit for. Even fellow wrestlers like AJ, Big Show, and Owens have all stated how good Roman really is. That being said, his shtick has gotten stale. As a heel he could spend less time cutting promos and more time being a mega douche. I'd love to see Heyman turn on Lesnar to align with Roman.
I say let him turn heel. Give him a winning streak that pisses people off. Build him up as an unstoppable heel. And then have an underdog finally defeat him. Either that or turn Roman heel and next year at WM Vince can book Roman vs Cena. And we all know he'd love that.

I think Roman would make a top smug heel. His ring work isn't bad at all and has the look. Sadly don't think it'll ever happen though, they're hellbent on him being the top face and it's very sad

I don't like Roman. I think he's a bumbling buffoon on the microphone. If WWE is going to put him over everyone, and people are just going to boo, then make him a heel. I genuinely don't think people understand "cool heel" heat. That's not Roman. 1997 HBK had cool heel heat, Nash & Hall had cool heel heat in the NWO, CM Punk always had cool heel heat. Roman being a heel is just going with the way the audience wants to react. Roman can be 2003 HHH. That's not cool heel heat. That's " this guy" heat. That's what WWE should be doing with Roman imo. If you can't make a top babyface, then make a top heel until the next babyface comes along.

I'm perfectly happy with Roman Reigns as a face. He's got character, he's fine in the ring, he's fine on the mic, yet for some reason the majority of fans absolutely hate him simply because it's the "cool" thing to do.
Just watching his PPV matches just shows how extremely closed-minded fans are when it comes to Roman Reigns. No matter how many cool spots he pulls off, fans are determined to relentlessly chant "you still suck", completely ignoring what had just happened. Any rational fan would think "oh, that was pretty cool". But WWE fans as a whole aren't rational. It just shows that fans are determined to NOT gain respect for him through his work, which is just the wrong frame of mind, pure and simple.
However if turning him heel would be what it would take for the fans to finally give him the respect he deserves, then I'm all for it, even if heels are supposed to be booed.

I think the problem is, WWE doesn't let things happen organically anymore. It seems like they're dead set on going against the crowd, especially when it comes to Reigns, and they use Cena's mixed reactions as an example any chance they can. Except it seems more people are booing Reigns. It's not always predominantly boos though. It seems that some cities like Reigns more than others. It comes down to Reigns being the cash cow though. The face of the company. That's WWE wants. Someone to take Cena's place. I've never liked Cena, but he's gained my respect within the last few years. Who's to say if it'll take almost 15 years for Reigns to earn my respect? If people generally don't like the guy, then he'll get booed no matter what.

As great as he would be with the amount of heat he would get, Vince will never turn his golden boy heel as long as he lives. The Reigns heel turn, just like the John Cena heel turn, will always be a myth. Reigns is actually worse than Cena in a number of ways. The fans love to hate Cena because it's fun and Cena himself encourages it to some degree, but it's different with Reigns. He has no idea how to deal with it, and nowhere near the charisma John Cena has where he can make it funny. When Roman entered number 30 at the Royal Rumble, you could audibly hear the fans in the arena scream in terror. I just want him to go away and never come back.

I came in here thinking that people would cheer a heel Roman and based on the poll it seems I was right.
If I went to WWE events I would proudly cheer Reigns. If he was heel I would boo him.

Yes it has to happen, he is a natural heat magnet.

The thing is Roman is actually a funny guy in real life so if he was allowed to cut his own promos he would be very good on the mic.
However a heel turn is needed very badly and it would be the making of his character.

Isn't he already a heel? The guy acts like a douche all the time. He ruined Lana's and Rusev's wedding event! xD

He has way more heat as a babyface than he ever would as a heel. The majority of compelling WWE main events over the last few years have been Golden Boy vs Internet Darling, and that stuff depends very heavily on the "don't tell me what to do, Vince" fan reaction. As soon as Vince starts to encourage fans to boo Roman against Sami Zayn or Seth Rollins or whoever, it immediately becomes less "rebellious" to do so. Ultimately, just like John Cena, Roman Reigns is a better heel when he's a babyface.
