Goldberg was a guest on Edge and Christians podcast and went out to say:
"I'll be honest, I'm miserable. I'm absolutely miserable. But my family's having fun, man. And so, every single thing, every training session, every ART massage that makes me cry, every muay thai session, it's all worth it, man. It's just worth it. And, hey, at the end of the day, if I want to smile, I'll buy a car. That's how I'm happy. I did, I bought one on the way back from [Survivor Series in] Toronto because I worked my ass off."
I thought Bill would've been more humble that WWE called him back and offered the amount of money they threw at him, and on top of that put the universal title on him all while main eventing Mania.
We all know Bill doesn't share the same passion for wrestling like a lot of others do, but to hear him say he's worked his ass off? So working a combined 5 minutes, if that, for all of his matches thus far is working your ass off then wow. I'll be damned. It's just frustrating to hear that the only joy from this was the car he bought after Survivor Series is mond boggling. But hey, not surprised. Hopefully he'll be gone after Mania.

I think by "miserable" he means from the constant training. Because if he's upset by how WWE is booking him, he's hit his head way too many times.

I imagine the training is most of it. It takes a lot of effort for someone his age to get in that kind of shape. Physically he looks great. But he probably ought to be focusing more on cardio because he can't even cut a promo without getting gassed. I did not want Goldberg back, and I will be perfectly happy if he doesn't show up again after WM.

Well Goldberg has lead to some miserable TV for us viewers.
I was excited to see him back last year and even at the Rumble, but now I could care less. I could sure care less about seeing him and Brock wrestle a 3rd horrible match together.
WWE needs star power for Mania they feel so they probably don't care what he says or how miserable he is, because they are gaining something from having him there.

that type of physical training after years of not being nearly as active would be a form of torture lol...he had the right to be miserable, even if a lot of us can't imagine why with the role he's been given.

I feel like you read "I am miserable. I bought car. fans." That's not even close to what he was even saying.

-- Those of us who've put hours and hours in the gym, can sympathize. Even Ali himself has said he hated training. And most MMA fighters will tell you, the hardest part is the training, the easy part is the fighting.
Especially at his age and having enduring a gridiron career before pro wrestling, the guy's body has gotta feel beaten up.
He doesn't have to be entertaining any one, he was well off before the E contacted him. The fact he's doing this for his family (and his fans), is highly commendable. I honestly can't knock the guy.

A guy who has stayed in moderately good PHYSICAL (IE glamour) shape for the past decade, now has to train his ass off daily to stay in shape to compete in a company in a sport he hasn't competed in in that same decade, is miserable.... I don't think he means " WWE and them handing me the keys to the kingdom it sucks." I think he means as a 50 year old dude, working out is harder on his body and makes him miserable. Let's not stir up crap where there isn't any to stir.

All I can say is I'll be glad when he's gone. I'm happy he came back and now we can get a few figures but that's about it for me. I don't need to see him on tv anymore.

i should add - of all guys to knock, golberg is a pretty commendable guy. the worst you could say of him is his injury to bret hart which was clearly an accident or that he developed an ego in later days wcw which is justifiable considering the political crap that was going on there - especially with nash.
he has always been adamant about wanting to represent being a real hero within wrestling to the same degree that bret hart is - which is why hall and nash have written both off for being marks in the past. but in a world of almost no real heroes it is inspirational to see anyone try and stand up to that expectation rather the character is a ficticious representation or not.

lol just another out of context quote for people to complain about.
There can not be another other collection of people on earth that are bigger cry babies than wrestling fans.

He means he's worked his ass off to stay in shape, and train, and he has. When you get to be his age working out every day isnt what it used to . You dont look the way Goldberg does by not working your ass off. People really come here and say he's out of shape because he hasnt worked a 20 minute match or say hes not working hard? Would love to see any of you guys try just one of Goldbergs training sessions and then say he's not working hard. Youd be laying on the ground about to pass out

I feel like you read "I am miserable. I bought car. fans." That's not even close to what he was even saying. This guy gets it in one. The training is pretty rigorous, especially for a dude in his 50s who's been out of the game for 13 years. Pro Boxers in the prime of their career say the exact same thing about their training camps. Cut the guy some slack.

I like how some people in here are trying to turn what he said into something it's not. He's clearly referencing how the physical exertion, and intense training he's doing, is causing him misery - the bloke is in his 50's after all. Speak for yourself. Seeing Goldberg on tv doesn't make me miserable. I'd be happy for him to stay around even longer.

I feel like you read "I am miserable. I bought car. fans." That's not even close to what he was even saying. Precisely, another case of websites selecting certain quotes from the podcast to make it clickbait and cause an unnecessary stir. On a side note, I loved the first episode of Edge & Christian's podcast.
