-- I took a 10yr break from watching WWE from 2005-2015, so wasn't aware of those WrestleMania's within that time. That's a shame, on their part and for the fans also. Meh, it wasn't that bad... WrestleMania's 19 & 20 were perfect the way they were. WrestleMania's 21 & 22 Shelton Benjamin went into Money in the Bank as IC champ. I can't remember who was the champ during WrestleMania 23 but Jericho went into Money in the Bank as champ at 24. Umaga was IC champ at WM 23 , but was involved with the McMahon and trump hair match vs Lashley

It's just the fact that it was the lowest match on the card (apart from Aries/Neville, which was almost guaranteed for the pre-show anyway). It wasn't really that big of a matchup to be worth putting on the main show. Only a handful of interactions beforehand. Not really a good buildup. Nor is Baron Corbin exactly a big star either. Finally the only reason why the match was on the pre show was because people cried anout the SD women's title. A match that sucked so I hope everyone who cried was satisfied. Oh, I'm sorry that expecting equality in the 21st century is tantamount to "crying". You're right, it's totally irrational to expect woman to be given similar opportunities to men, right? Seriously, even suggesting that what few women they have are only fit for the pre-show is just insulting to women, considering the fact that until this year, each WrestleMania had a maximum of ONE women's match. The SmackDown Women's Championship is the female equivalent to the WWE Championship. Do you think it's fine to put a world championship on a damn pre-show? The reason the match sucked was that it was far, far, far shorter than it should have been. 5 and a half bloody minutes for a match with 6 women?! The idiots responsible for allocating the time to that match don't deserve to allocate time to any match again. Again, insulting to the women in that match for being given such a disgustingly short amount of time. There are so many ways they could have organised the show better to allocate enough time. Cut a few minutes off of Triple H/Seth Rollins, cut a few minutes off of AJ Styles/Shane McMahon, get rid of the music performance. There were so many options to allocate enough time to the matches that needed it, yet they chose not to. You can't put blame on the women involved in the match or the fans that rightly feel that women deserve equality in the 21st century for terrible backstage decisions. But just think if the SD Womens match was on the pre show it may have had more time and been somewhat decent. Also Ambrose and Corbin had a pretty big build up so what we saw on Smackdown should've been on the main card at Mania and the fact that Ambrose is a former World champion makes it even more ridiculous. I would like to also add that Ambrose and Corbin was not guaranteed or expected to be on the pre show. A few weeks before Mania I predicted that it would happen and everyone on here thought my assumption was nonsense. As for being equal well what about the SD Tag titles? They didn't even get defended so at least the SD Women's title was on the card where the SD tag teams where thrown into the battle royal. So hows that being equal? I do agree however about some of the matches being cut short along with that dumb band. Why wasn't that on the pre show?

Why is it called the "Intercontinental Title" when apparently (based on the first post, I'm not a history buff) all it's for is getting at the "real" championship belt?
Why isn't the Intercontinental Championship something won in an elimination tournament, where one wrestler is chosen to represent every country? That would make a hell of a lot more sense for what it's called, plus expose the viewers to varying styles of wrestling. And I'm sure they can make a crapton of money on it.

Ambrose and Corbin atleast had interactions with each other like the forklift scene and costing Baron a match with Orton. All the women did was pointlessly run in on their matches or get a quick cheap shot on someone. It has nothing to do with equality. Ambrose/Corbin had a better build and in the grand scheme of things are more over than the women currently (atleast Ambrose is). Yes the women have been a big part of SDL since the split but that match was basically a cluster-f*** to get all of em in a match. Dean and Baron have also been big parts of SDL since the split and had a story going into the event unlike the women.

Ambrose and Corbins feud was a huge part of Smackdown and leading into Mania it looked like there was going to be one hell of a battle. This is the second Mania in a row where Ambrose has been screwed and as a fan it's totally disgusting. Also this Pre show crap needs to end asap. Years back you had Heat which was a warm up for the PPV that featured a jobber match and backstage segments from the stars. No title match belongs on a pre show because it's downgrading.

I do agree however about some of the matches being cut short along with that dumb band. Why wasn't that on the pre show? While the SmackDown Womens match probably would have gotten more time on the pre-show, WWE could have scheduled the main show better to give the same amount of time as the match would have gotten on the pre-show. Personally I always thought Ambrose/Corbin was one of the lowest matches on the card and therefore a definite possibility for the pre-show. The SmackDown Tag Team titles are not shown to be equal, I agree. But WWE decided not to defend them on the show at all, so that's a whole different issue. Yes the women have been a big part of SDL since the split but that match was basically a cluster-f*** to get all of em in a match. Dean and Baron have also been big parts of SDL since the split and had a story going into the event unlike the women. It absolutely is to do with equality. Bumping the women to the pre-show is not giving them equal opportunities to be on the main show, considering the huge number difference between the male and female rosters. Think about it. A ratio of 57 men to 6 women, or a ratio of 57 men to 12 women. Which is a more equal ratio? Hence why it is entirely about equality. When WWE has a track record of only having ONE womens match maximum for each WrestleMania, they really needed to change that, and show that the women deserve the opportunities denied to them for so long. Yes, I agree that even given the few interactions they had beforehand, compared to other matches on the card, Ambrose/Corbin still had a much better story behind it than the SmackDown Women's match, which had virtually no story. But when you have 10 matches on the card featuring only male performers, compared to only 2 matches on the card featuring female performers, there is really no excuse for not having the TWO matches they booked featuring women on the main card. It's not that Ambrose/Corbin had a better or worse match potential than the SmackDown womens match. It's just that one of the male matches needed bumping to the pre-show in favour of giving the women the opportunity they deserved, and that just happened to be the match that they chose.
