It was funny and a bit ironic that the Feds couldn't take down McMahon. A multi billionaire couldn't take him down. But a couple koala bears did.

Vince McMahon couldve kept the WWF initials if he had made annual donations to the World Wildlife Fund and helped promote saving endangered species but he didnt want to do that.

HHH vs. HBK
The whole Trish/Victoria feud.
The Hardy/Edge stuff was really good except for Hardy's car accident promo.

And yet, there are still people that refer to it as WWF.

2002 to 2005 was good. 2006 to now, not so much.

The slogan at the time was ''Get the F out'' well I wish they would get the F back.

I remember getting the June 2002 WWE magazine in the mail, seeing the new scratch logo and being confused as to why the F was gone. 2002 was a good year.

I think it was the first time I saw the new logo and being confused also. I never minded the WWF to WWE name switch though as the product at the time was amazing.

In hindsight, I'm really glad the name changed when it did.
At the time I hated it, because WWE seems so corporate and bland. When it was called the World Wrestling Federation, you called it "THE WWF", referring to a specific product and brand, whereas now you don't call it "THE WWE" because that doesn't make sense grammatically, so rather than referring to a specific brand which is characterised by a specific product, you're now referring to the entire industry of World Wrestling Entertainment every time you mention it. WWE is so sweeping and broad, whereas the WWF has a sense of ownership.
However, there was a definite switch in the approach to the product, where it did become less specific and no longer belonged to the fans with the corporate champions being manufactured based on who would have the broadest appeal in non-wrestling settings, rather than wrestling fans who already are fully behind the product choosing their champion based on their merit as a performer.
What we've seen since spring 2002 hasn't been the WWF, and doesn't represent that brand at all. What we have seen since that time is very definitely WWE and can't besmirch the legacy of the old brand because it fits the current one.

I was really surprised that they changed it. here in the UK for a while before the change happened it was referred to as WWFE on Sky so I thought that they would just call themselves World Wrestling Federation Entertainment. Have the WWF logo and just have entertainment written underneath it.

I never got why they didn't add an extra scratch to the WWF logo to make it WWE rather than just WW.

The ending of Wrestlemania 20 was the greatest there will ever be. This. Chris Benoit defined the Ruthless Aggression era whether anyone wants to admit it or not.

I liked how certain legends either forgot or refused to call it WWE. Piper comes to mind who would routinely call it WWF and I would picture Vince in the back throwing a tantrum.

I remember thinking it was a far bigger deal than it turned out to be. I do think naming it 'Entertainment' does cheapen it. For me it feels like it's admittance that it's 'fake'. I know so many things over the years have also done that but you know what I mean.
