I don't think we'll ever get a legitimate reason as to why they pick the parts they do, and I highly doubt Bill would be allowed to walk into this minefield of a topic even if he wanted to. Anything we come up with is pure speculation, and I'd imagine the actual truth would probably anger people even more. The truth is, Mattel really doesn't have an urgent reason to overhaul anything, since people still buy whatever is released. This Seth is a pretty ugly figure parts wise, as is the recent Rhyno. But a majority of collectors are rushing out to buy these 2 currently. And its not like the issue is pure QC, where none of us have any clue as to how bad things are until we get it out of the box. Many of these figures are clearly flawed from the start, and people buy them anyhow. Even though this site is a small sample size of the collecting community, a quick trip to places like FB and Instagram show the same trend. People will point out all the glaring issues on a figure, buy it anyhow, then buy even more Mattel figures or kit-bash from their existing collection to properly fix all the issues. Ultimately you can't wait for Mattel to give you any answers, and instead need to decide on your own what your limits are with this line. You can choose to be content to take these for what they are, and enjoy the labor of tweaking things to make them perfect in your eyes. Or alternatively, you can keep your money in your pocket, and let more of these questionable figures shelf-warm like they probably should. I agree. Mattel doesn't worry because they know the figures will sell. When I do not like a figure I pass and I sugest you people do the same, if you continue to buy what you consider bad they will continue to give us bad figures because they don't need to put on the market perfect figures to sell. That's exactly how I feel. The irony behind this thread is that most members who bash us (those who actually give constructive criticism) haven't commented yet with their usual snarky replies such as "they're just toys", "don't like it don't buy it etc." You're damn right! If I feel that a figure is a halfed assed I'm not going to buy it. I just don't get it when people don't like the product and just buy it anyway. If you have no other alternative to the figure, I understand. That's the case for me when it comes to some of the Sting figures, there's no other versions of the wolfpac Sting (besides the 90s version). I still haven't bought an AJ because I feel that he is not up to par and will continue to do it until we get a decent one. By purchasing figures you don't like you're letting Mattel know that it's okay to give us half assed products. I get a slip up with one or two figures, but to have them constantly and have the correct parts is just peculiar. I'm hoping we get questions like these addressed for sdcc and not those bs questions that are the usual yes or no, we'll see, maybe reply. The reason why I feel this way is because I'm passionate about collecting, it's my hobby and I spend a lot of money and time in it. Have a nice day everyone.

Aesthetically, i like the figure.
if this was like a one-off figure like from Storm Collectibles or one of these figurarts figs. I would like it way more.
In a world where Jakks used the same parts for everything. In that narrative...if the line was all figures using the Cody/Dolph elite buck. I love it.
Like the RSC Jakks TNA Austin aries figure. Scale wise, that figure was a mess. But aesthetically, i liked that figure a lot on its own.
Unfortunately for me to like this NXT Seth Rollins elite....i have to completely forget about how it not only scales with other figures in the line. But how it scales compared to other Seth Rollins elites. And thats where it fails miserably.
but in that world. Where im not looking at scale, and just enjoying a figure for what it is. In that scenario, the only real problem for me would be the short boots.

Im admittingly a junkie for these figures and I just feel like Mattel started out selling us the most pure, primo, quality stuff, and then in the last couple we've been getting diluted, cut, stepped on product. I have the fear of missing out on a trunks NXT Seth, as when are we likely to get another flashback figure of a main roster talent? When does that ever happen? Almost never. Id love to display it front and center but Im more likely to hide the legs behind other figures. Ive tried to rationalize and justify some of Mattel WWEs decisions, but Im tired of it. Thanks everyone for letting me vent my frustrations, and I guess we'll just have to wait for a SDCC Q&A to see about answers. Even though the person asking them is either Noelle, who is clueless to these issues, or some other RS shill that doesnt want to make it awkward by following up with the hard questions. "So why some of these part choices?" "Well I thought they looked ok." "Well there you have it, the lead designer said it looked ok, and thats that!"

This isn't even a thread with suggestions anymore. Just bashing Mattel and Ringside.
Can we lock this garbage now?

You are not required to buy these figures, you know. If you don't like it, you don't have to buy it.

There is a lack of effort going around Mattel figures as far as part choices, quality control and scale.. I've definitely scaled back my collection because the price tag of these figures with this many issues just isn't worth it anymore.

Are those boots new? I thought they were the same kickers that the MVP figures have. Can someone answer this? I'm curious to know too. I don't have an MVP.

I was totally gonna put this Rollins into my 'Indie Darlings' display, but since the boots were brought up, I'm gonna have to pass on this. If I were to decide to get this later on, he'd have to be displayed in the back of that collection.

I thought these were MVP boots too. If they arent and Mattel created a new mold....then this just gets worse. Creating new molds COST money. Why would you WASTE money on a mold that is INACCURATE?! But we cant get cloth shirts or jackets or more accessories or additional deco?

I love the scan, but the part choices bring the figure down severely. I wish they had just used the same parts they did for Justin Gabriel's elite; Rollins wasn't even that ripped back in NXT as he became in 2015 before his injury.

Mattel could've just made this figure with parts from the current Rollins figures we get and it would have turned out a lot better than what we actually got.
