well, at least thats how I felt. I was searching for a good deal for this boxed for what feels like 3 years now and finally got it! It was a struggle because there were periods which you couldnt find it at all , or nearly caved to getting it loose. very happy with this figure. I would even call it the best RKO Mattel has made to date. I really like the older style packaging, especially when they are PPV themed. wished it was with the chase chair but not a big deal. the paintjob on the face is of course better than E49, not to mention the colorful attire. Not much into customs anymore so the thought of changing the elite somehow never crossed my mind. Im really happy with this. right up there with my most valuable figures I got since I mainly collect updated current roster these days. What do you think of the figure? what are some of the best and rarest basics to your knowledge?

This is a great figure! I dont have a lot of knowledge about the rarity of this figure but it is definitely set apart from his other figures
One of my favorite basics has got to be the hurricane. My grandpa proudly owns one MOC.

I was in the same boat as you! As soon as the chance to get it loose presented itself, I pulled the trigger. Still haven't seen it on card for a reasonable price. Very nice find! 😊

Best basics imo are:
That Orton, WM20 Orton, Entrance Greats figures, SS Hitman CM Punk, Road Doggs, Enzo Amore, Tshirt series figures, 61 Nattie, 72 Nia Jax, 53 AJ Lee, Demon Finn.

My grandpa proudly owns one MOC. [br Its only "rare" because it came out 6-7 years ago. Might be harder to find one MOC as people tend to open these. It like most Mattel WWE figures are mass produced. It was hard for me to get a second one a year or so ago too. I needed one to put on the WM20 basic.

It was the only Mattel WWE figure I ever saw at that store.

I got one in a figure lot for pretty cheap and converted it to an elite... fast forward a few months and a classic Orton gets and official release via E49.

Love this one, i have the blue one and of course the elite. I hope we one day get a first appearance Orton in the blue and yellow trunks with his early 2000 frat daddy hair.

I like this figure because of the headscan and event it represents. I didn't think it was ever considered 'ultra rare' however.

Gotta admit, when I see the title "Ultra Rare" I didnt expect a figure that was mass released & eventually showed up in discount stores nearly 10 years ago.

I have three; one to keep the way it was, one to give his pads to a Bret and head to the WM XX Orton, and the other to give his pads...to another Bret.

Had no idea this was rare. I never check secondary market prices, but in my area this used to shelf warm. There was one at my local Argos for months, kind of feel silly for not buying it now but oh well.

Got this fig myself last week, quite hard to get in the UK now and usually goes for very high prices for some reason but I managed and was happy to get it for £10 posted minus an elbowpad.
Its been a grail figure for me since I started collecting 2 and a half years ago. Its such a great figure and IMO, Randy's best along with e49.

Was that rare at the time, or is it just hard to come by now? I don't ever remember people making a big deal about that in 2010?
Cool figure either way. Mattel really does a half ass job painting hair, eyebrows and eyes now, so like you said, even though it's the same scan, this is painted better than Elite 49.
