I noticed a lot of people talking about the Rock's sincerity and genuineness. Up until about 5 years ago (maybe even more recently than that) I could have probably been the president of the anti-Rock club. My biggest knock against him was that he always seemed phony. In the last few years I found out that he battled depression and part of the way he learned to deal with it was to force himself to stay positive and always try to be inspiring. He most likely is not totally genuine but I don't think he's malicious. He's probably compensating for his own perceived shortcomings. He may be thinking in his head that he's not doing enough or not nice enough, so he probably forces himself to be extra nice and from time to time he probably tries too hard. I can respect people trying deal with stuff. I think his character on Ballerz is probably a character that's more true to him than any other he's ever played. All smiles and confidence in public, then doubt and anxiety in private. Yeah, whatever is going on with him is clearly superficial. I think it's probably due to him trying to be a hyper-masculine image, which is impossible. You try to act like nothing can ever bother you and that you're such a badass and all smiles and it comes across so fake. He's just like each one of us when he's not in front of a crowd. But I would prefer to admire someone a little more genuine and humble, and there are a lot of actors who do behave this way.

...but then again he's Dwayne Johnson now and transcended wrestling/sports entertainment so good for him. I will say though that it clashes strongly with the Polynesian tattoos he already has, but again, that's him...all good.

I think the tat looks AMAZING. However, not for The Rock. I dont like that the Brhama Bull is gone. I think at this point, almost age 50, a tat like that is WAY too much. And worst of all, this is starting to smell like Rock's previous Hollywood career. He started to distant himself more and more from WWE. He started to slow down the action movies and instead opting for Disney flicks. This SUNK his acting career before. So much so, he was getting nothing before he finally got the straight to dvd Faster movie. BTW, that movie is quite AWESOME. Rock plays a dark character and its very violent. It also has Billy Bob in it.
Anyway, Rock's career was ressurrected with his return to WWE and action movies. Please Rock....dont make the same mistake twice.

Just because he doesn't constantly post negative things going on in his life doesn't mean he is superficial. Rock wants to spread happiness and positivity to those who follow him. Like bababooey said the guys battled depression. Depressed people tend not show that they're going through crap because they don't want to bring others down. They will always be extremely positive and even put helping other feel good. Many celebrities are like that. Robin Williams was one of them. The public never really knew how bad he was suffering because he always made light of the fact. I do the same thing I don't let people in on when I'm feeling depressed. I'll come off as being happy and positive because that's how I want others to be.

I love the new tattoo, but I wish he had kept the bull tattoo, it was something that has represented him for as long as I can remember... I'll get used to it I guess! Mixed emotions!

I think it looks cool and has a nice story behind it. Nothing wrong with outgrowing a tattoo. Surprised it took this long. His Bull was definitevely 90s and he hasn't been that guy in a long time.

On this day, The Rock has officially died. Consumed by a man named Dwayne Johnson.

I really am starting to hate wrestling fans. This thread is full of ridiculousness.

It's like a Star Wars Special Edition version of Rock's tattoo.

Wow. This is definitely going to take a while to get used to. I'm not sure how to feel about it yet. The Brahma Bull was such an iconic tattoo going back to arguably the greatest era in wrestling history.

Damn, I thought he was going to build around it not cover it up, RIP Brahma Bull.

Not quite sure how I feel about it. On one hand I'm sad to see the original bull gone, but on the other hand, I bet it'll look cool as in person when he next shows up on WWE television.

I think I've watched too many episodes of Inkmaster because all I see when I look at the new tattoo is the clearly visible horns and ear from the original tattoo - look on the bridge of the nose just a little down and right from the eye. As cover ups go, that is a major fail.

So.
I'm just going to address the elephant in the room upfront.
What'll his trunks look like were he to wrestle again?
