Am I the only one who thinks Dolph Ziggler deserves better than what he is getting right now? The thing about it is is that Ziggler is right each and every week about the fans who buy into elaborate entrances. What truly makes a star? Going out there each and every single night stealing the damn show by putting on a great in ring performance. Dolph does that every night he is out there in that ring and is he a main event guy? No he isn't because WWE holds him back

Does he deserve better though? He kinda peaked in 2013, and he isn't better than anyone else, his selling isn't better, his 'gimmick' is literally "I like Shawn Michaels and Mötley Crüe." Dolph has been in the company for what? 11-12 years? And he has 1 memorable moment that really the crowd made more than he did.

He hasn't been anything more than solid for years. He's just HBK-lite. He had a few really good matches with Miz, but other than that he's been pretty forgettable since 2015 for me.

But still you know what I mean right? If he were in GFW/Impact or even NJPW right now he would be a much bigger deal. Maybe Ziggler should go to either company or hell he could go to ROH and even be a star there.

Considering his initial run was as a male cheerleader and then a man who liked to introduce himself (thankfully without a stupid knock knock joke) and then as a cougar slayer and then as a WWE World Champion, he's done just fine with his career. We fans think wrestlers are stupid. Most aren't actually marks for themselves. They realize this is a job. If they want a long career, they fulfill whatever role they are given.
Dolph could have gone multiple times to the indys and Japan. He hasn't. Why? $$. When your sole ability to make a living is based on how well your body endures being slammed on the floor multiple times, you need to be smart. He knows he's not the next HulkHogan or Rock. He's already made his mark. Is it as big as Austin's? No. Is it better than Stan Stasiak? Yes. WIll people remember he was a champion years from now? Likely.

Ziggler has done it all virtually but the fact that he isn't a main event level caliber talent when he should be is why he deserves better

Not everyone can be on top at the same time. But Dolph has done himself no favors over his WWE run. Rumors were they didn't push him cause he tried to be HBK-lite. So what does Dolph do? Gets long tights that look like Shawn's and starts using the super-kick as a finisher. That's the wrong way to take constructive criticism.
Personally, I like Dolph. But I think he has reach his ceiling. Without changing things up, I can't see him going anywhere. Sure if he leaves WWE he can do well in TNA, ROH, or NJPW. But to be fair, he'll most likely be exactly the same as he is now. Just with more super-kicks and less selling.

He's stale and it feels like WWE kinda left him behind. Someone said it about Nattie but I think it applies to Ziggler too "He was great for the time but with the talent that's come in since, he seems out of place.". I paraphrased but yeah.

His promo this week on raw was cringy where he said he was going to have a new look. But yes, he's right about the entrances.

He deserves pretty much exactly the career he's had. He isn't worthy of being top tier talent in a top promotion - and he never had the guts/desire to leave and find out if he could be a big fish in a smaller pond.

Steve Austin was a star in the late 90s/2000s and "Stone Cold" was far LESS technical than "Stunning" Steve Austin. The Rock was a star in the early 2000s mostly for his promo work than his great "in ring performance". Point is, no, it's not technical wrestling prowess that truly makes you a star in professional wrestling. It's the whole package: elaborate entrances, promos, gimmicks, in ring ability - everything. It's why American Alpha flopped while someone like AJ Styles can succeed.

People today watch WWE expecting to get hour long matches Dave Meltzer needs to change his pants after. Anyone with any talent needs to be a main eventer. Just about everyone on the WWE roster can main event anywhere else. I've even seen Ellsworth main event on shows. If WWE was gonna push everyone with talent to the main event and give them the title, every show would have to be a 2-3 hour battle royal where everyone gets a belt based on the order of elimination. People would still complain their favorite didn't win every week.

This seems like its leading to a feud with Bobby Roode. Let it play out.

I'm just waiting for Ziggler to come out to Cult of Personality, that is of course WWE has the rights to use it. Will smackdown live be in Chicago anytime soon?

I think for me it's something about his voice. It kind of makes some of his promo seem cheesey. I thought he was great with AJ and Big E though.

He's a future HOFer. he will always be remembered and lots of guys would die to be in his spot. He's had a good run and doesn't need the title IMO.

Nope, he do not.
At this point, he's a mid-carder - who can occasionally be moved into the main event when needed. Survivor Series '14 was the final nail in his coffin. If they didn't do anything with him after that, it's clear that this was going to be his ceiling for the rest of his career. And you can tell he knows it too, because he's been coasting ever since then.
