Has anybody here ever had the urge to sell off your collection and start over? Not to stop collecting entirely, just to start again with a blank slate?
I've been having this urge on and off for the past month or so and I was just curious if anyone has actually done this before and if they regret it or not.

I sold off all my current guys and just kept my legends/flashbacks and that's all I collect. I don't care much for the current guys since they A. Release them over and over and B. I don't care much for the attires.

I don't think I would start over per se, but I would like to trim my collection. I'm hesitant to start selling figures for two main reasons. First, I have no experience selling anything online and I'm not really too sure how to even get started. Second, and most importantly, I'm worried I'll regret selling them.

Nah
I've spent so much time, money, gas, miles, and room space for my collection.

I did and it worked just the same except the second time I didn't have to sell as many figures, and then the third time I didn't have to sell as many as the second time.

I sold all elites, im completely done with them.
But.... I'm getting my Hasbro collection started again. Last week alone i purchased, repo man, smash, bushwackers blue cards, samu, Marty and rowdy piper. All USA Cards. And all for around 45$ shipping included.
I will add Retros to it, already have purchased serodes 1 and 3. But no luck with 2 still. But I rather spend 60$ on 1 Hasbro rather than 6 retros.

Sell it all, the product is getting worse and once they are gone you won't miss them.

I feel this way about video games. I have a handful of expensive rare things I don't use, but I know if I sell them on ebay, I'll just get r*ped by scammers so I keep them.

I don't collect to sell. Don't get the concept. Trading is more understandable

Wait, getting rid of all your wrestling figures just to buy new wrestling figures? I don't get it.
Do NONE of your current figures do anything for you anymore? If you aren't enchanted with your current collection, what makes you think an entirely new collection will do otherwise?
I see the logic in selling some of your collection whether you don't like them or need them anymore, but still wanting to retain your favorites. Selling off your entire collection of one product just to buy a new collection of the same product doesn't make sense to me. That's like saying you have no sentimental investment or investment of any kind to what you spent a lot of time, money and resources on to begin with.
Not knocking you one bit for what you're doing, I just personally don't understand it.

Personally, no. I've always been fairly selective in who and what I buy. Sure, I probably could do without the Ascension basics, or 3 different Ultimate Warriors. But there would be no point to selling off my collection only to rebuy...the exact same figures.
If someone had a large collection of figures they don't want or have a large wantlist that they currently can't afford, I can see the appeal. But personally I just keep an eye out for a good price on the small list of figures I want and don't already own.

I always change up my collection. I had 96-00 ish roster, sold that off and started collecting ruthless aggression era guys, then once the new macho man DM came out I sold that off and started collecting Golden Era guys.....All in All you probably drop around $100 total when you start over but the fun in collecting is completely worth it

I go through times where I cut bait with some figures that don't do it for me anymore, most of the time when I feel I have too many or there's a better version out of a particular character. But your premise still sounds flawed. If you sell everything are you just going to buy some of the same figures back? That ... doesn't make any sense.

No I instantly would regret selling and would then buy it back at a higher price down the line.
