I'm sure everyone remembers last year what a big deal WWE made the Royal Rumble at the Alamo Dome stadium. It seemed to me that the venue was pretty successful, and the Rumble is arguably the 2nd or at worst 3rd biggest show of the year. If they sold well last year, why not have the Royal Rumble in a stadium again, or alternate with SummerSlam in a stadium? I think that ultimately WWE would like to hold the three biggest PPV's in a stadium, and why not? Survivor Series hasn't felt big in a decade, and nearly all the other PPV's just feel like episodes of Raw and SDL. What are your guys' thoughts on stadium shows?

Eh, I'm not sure about having the Rumble in a stadium. Thats the start of the Road To Wrestlemania, and the start and end of said road would essentially look the same. I'd be all for having Summerslam in a 40,000 capacity baseball stadium though.

Probably would've been a good idea for this year but oh well.

If they're going to do the Rumble in Miami again anytime soon I'd like to see it at the Marlins Stadium. Retractable roof, gorgeous skyline views through the outfield windows, 75 degree weather in January, and 38K seating. I think it would be really cool if they could figure out the semantics of the setup. AAA is a completely forgettable venue.

Keep the roof closed if they do. Open roofs are part of what's hurt Wrestlemania so much. The crowd reactions just float away and those are arguably an even bigger part of the RR than WM

Bring SummerSlam back to Wembley. We’ll show you how it’s done

I'm not opposed to this idea of occasionally bringing one of the other big shows to "medium" sized stadiums. It still keeps Wrestlemania as a separate, larger entity, but allows them to promote these shows as being bigger. The baseball stadium plan works well.

Only problem is that there are a handful of MLB stadiums suitable for a January stadium, and almost all of them are West Coast. Chase Field - Glendale, AZ Safeco Field - Seattle, WA Dodger & Angels Stadium - Los Angeles, CA AT&T Park - San Francisco, CA Petco Park - San Diego, CA Miller Park - Milwaukee, WI (doubtful, since WWE doesn't consider them a big market) Minute Made Park - Houston, TX Marlins Park - Miami, FL Rogers Center - Toronto, ONWould definitely love to see one at Skydome and Dodger Stadium. My hope though is one day they run SummerSlam at PNC Park, it has breathtaking skylines and is one of the loudest stadiums in baseball.

The thing is, though, is that I don't think they need to do it every year. The Rumble was in a stadium last year and its back in an arena this year and nothing is really any different. I don't think it's like Wrestlemania where it just doesn't feasibly make sense to move it to a smaller location anymore. For shows like the Rumble, pick your location and then if there's a logical, larger venue to hold it in, go for it.

I get what your saying but the stakes of the Rumble are so high, and they usually build a pretty spectacular car around it too, that it deserves to be in a stadium. Maybe not the giant football stadiums, but something that holds 40-50k are perfect....Same goes for SummerSlam.

That's a nice surprise. I was hoping for Mania to be in Phoenix in a few years so i might consider going to this.

THE problem with hosting the Rumble in a stadium is unless it’s built with a dome, it takes a lot of cities out because it’s dead winter.

Them ramps are so damn long for a Rumble match, they have to run a mile just to get in the ring

I second that hope, it's too cold to ever have a Rumble there, and supposedly Pittsburgh isn't big enough to host a SuperBowl, so I doubt WrestleMania ever comes to Heinz Field. Watching wrestling with that skyline in the background, especially once it's nighttime, would truly be something special to see.

At least it will stand out visually when it's an outdoor stadium. Always been a fan of outdoor events so I'm for it

Someone in WWE must be reading, because they announced next year’s Rumble to be at Chase Field in Arizona. Should be interesting!

If they put Rumbles in stadiums going forward that pretty much screws the entire east coast. SSlam being in stadiums makes more sense since all big cities would have a chance at hosting it.

I’d lose my s*** if they did SummerSlam at Yankee Stadium.
