This is what happens when you ask for guys we don't really need. You get a red rooster that looks great and a ron simmons that's not so great. I can't wait for the long awaited greg valentine (that everyone seems to want) to look like ric flair with a valentine head. Guaranteed he gets the Jim Duggan torso. That will look great!!

Well at least he isn’t super dark like his other figures. I assume this is the Rock skin tone?

I don’t like the figure but I didn’t want it anyways. I’m a flashback only collector and I really want that wcw belt but I’m not buying a figure I have no need for. Just gimme elite acolytes already.

this is why i want to know what the actual process of making a figure is, how do they decide to use what parts. because there have been a million glaring mistakes on tons of figures over the years, and thats with them having the correct parts that would make a figure look more accurate, but they just choose not to or ignore it or whatever. i really want to know HOW this happens, it at least would ease my annoyance when i see things like this. i think its the fact that we dont know anything that makes it so much worse Its another case of "your getting a new belt, so too bad its good enough".

Serious question
When did Mattel say it's WWE line was to 1/8 scale?

Serious question When did Mattel say it's WWE line was to 1/8 scale? Should be 1/12 scale. These are 6”-7” figures which is 1/12 scale for 6’-7’ wrestlers.

I know someone said it already but Hogan DM Torso would have been much preferred for my liking.

The skintone is much better and the head mold is decent enough, but that torso was a massive oversight. Anything more stocky would be fine, even if it's not dead-on at least it would somewhat look like him shape-wise. I also think he should be in purple since that's the gear he won the WCW title in. This is a case of using a promo picture as a point of reference, I think.
I just can't see them redoing this particular era of Ron's career again. I loved the Jakks CS figure, but I feel like this one is a few tweaks away from being definitive.

They cant knock them all out of the park but i get the disapointment from simmons fans

the best option we have to fix this is either the Rock legends or the Rock NOD (if you want more ripped) - and that's provided the skin-tones somewhat match.

God this is overkill on the complaining for me. I genuinely like this figure. It’s not perfect but it’s a flashback of someone we do t have and it isn’t that bad. You might see it as complaining, but I think the majority of us would really like to know what decision-making goes into designing an action figure. Mattel has an exhaustive parts-library, I'm sure they have tons of molds in China, this type of figure isn't breaking the budget on paint apps - so what's the reason for the poor choice in parts? Is Bill that artistically out-of-touch? I hope not. But maybe you're on to something - accept it because "it isn't that bad" If we ever get a Haku, I can almost see him with this torso as well - maybe we'll make a bigger fuss because he's more popular than Ron Simmons? The word travesty makes this whole thing silly. Have the discussion by all means, but if you wanna lose perspective and go into hyperbole then people will probably say so.

I think that or the sheik torso would look great. Did someone break the sheik mold? One and done, that would suit a few old school wrestlers imo

I'm disappointed in the torso choice as well. How is he the same size as Tito Santana and Terry Taylor?
I do like the skin tone and head though, and will be getting the figure no matter what as I'm a big fan of that era and Simmons' world title reign. I can't wait to see the completed belt, and hopefully a headband.

I'm with Bandy, this is a poor torso choice.
