Sorry if the title is misleading but character limit. My question is why hasn’t the company with the largest production values and crew gone to more movie/television style interviews and character development like Lucha Underground and now Impact is doing. Just watching this Eddie Edwards / Sami Callahan stuff, like Eddie at his house looking in the mirror and seeing himself as Callahan. And of course all the stuff Lucha does that they have brought into Impact. Seeing WWe superstars portraying kayfabe and their stories not just in the ring or even the arena. I know it has done wonders and really drawn me back into Impact and I think it might be something fresh for WWE to do to bring some new energy.
Thoughts?

Because if WWE can make billions of dollars doing the same formulaic bullcrap every week, why change?

Didnt they try this with New Day vs Wyatt Family and Ultimate Deletion?

Personally, I'm not a fan of the over cinematic backstage "movies". IMO it's very cheesy.

If WWE changed the way the produce the show how would we get awkward selfie promos, and have the cameras miss big spots in matches because they are jump cutting and zoomed in too tight?

Didnt they try this with New Day vs Wyatt Family and Ultimate Deletion? Don't forget the House of Horrors! And in every instance, they WWE-ified it and it stunk. Well, Ultimate Deletion was pretty decent, but still fell short of all the Impact versions of the Broken Universe.

Using Lucha Underground as the example, they do a lot of supernatural stuff and whatnot, so obviously WWE doesn't need anything like that. Sure they have Wyatt and Taker, but not the majority of the roster like LU. I doubt it would be as cheesy if WWE did it. I don't watch TNA tho so I'm not sure what they're doing.

I think it might help with the kayfabe issue of the show, help people buy in more if they are taking the characters and content seriously.

And the promo interrupted by promo interrupted by promo until 'Tag team match!!' And the cuts to Kurt Angle backstage on his cell phone being constantly interrupted. God knows everyone would be lost and delirious if we didn't get that for one week lol.

I would have to disagree immensely with that.

Well, Ultimate Deletion was pretty decent, but still fell short of all the Impact versions of the Broken Universe. No. All of them were equally bad. Well, Austin and Pillman was good as was Triple H and Orton, but Wyatt’s/New Day, House of Horrors & Ultimate Deletion were all bad.

Having Drew McIntyre come out as this bad ass heel on Raw and then later on WWE Facebook, laughing and having fun with Heath and Jinder doing a 3MB rewatch doesn’t help either. WWE might be too far gone in regards to kayfabe but it might help people take interest in some of their characters. Instead of having No Way jose walk around backstage doing a conga every week, maybe some cinema type development out in the world showing us more of who his character is.

I’m all for prerecorded segments as long as they’re somewhat realistic and not dumb and cheesy like the Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy stuff. Something like the Pillman Austin segment minus the firearms. Roman showing up at Brock’s house because Lesnar refuses to come to Raw would’ve been good. It could be a really fun MITB cash in for someone to do kinda like how they did some of the Hardcore 24/7 segments. Braun or one of next year’s winners can cash in on someone in a public scene like a restaurant, bar, airport, that person’s house, etc.

Lucha Underground can do it because it's a television series with lucha attached to the show but if WWE did it every week or every other week it looks kinda lame. You leave that crap for television series for the major networks. I don't wanna watch a movie that involves wrestling that's what we have Ready to Rumble for.

Listen, are you going to tell me right now that The Marine 3-6 are not critically acclaimed, A-list movies? Because that would not be awesome.
