Hey Guys, I was just on a facebook group and a member there noted their Elite 60 Giant Machine had a huge amount of dye seeping on to the plastic of the figure. I attached his pictures so everyone can see. I searched here and know this was an issue with Legends Yokozuna, and some of the Elite 40's, but I thought I remember reading the issue was fixed. Anyone else had any soft goods issues lately with dye running? Is acetone still the best idea to remove it?

Is acetone still the best idea to remove it? Acetone is not a good way to do it without damaging the plastic - use Oxy 10, apply a few times and your figure should be as good as new.

You can’t remove it. It has bled into the plastic.

Only way is to paint over it with the proper skin tone. That alone sounds like a pain.

They should just return it to the store.

The people saying u can't remove the stain are wrong. You need some oxy vanishing cream/spot remover. This stuff works. It isn't a quick process but it will work. Apply on the stain let it sit for like an hour wipe it off. Repeat process until stain is gone.

That’s awful, I had a similar problem with the Fan Central Bobby Heenan’s Jacket.

Just say they are rope burns or bruises and you’re good. I mean, they do look like bruises tbh.
I ran into this issue with a lot of figures. That crap settles into the plastic and never comes out. In some rare cases you can sand it down with little damage. But most of the times it’s already sunk in.

Tried a generic brand, barely tickled the stain

Don't use acetone, you risk making it worse since it can make the dye seep even more into the plastic.
Sanding it off is safer, and if you have the patience to use super fine grit to polish the surface, you dont have to use sealer to give the plastic its sheen.
Glad to see peeps have found other solutions, gj

Oxy maximum strength spot treatment works the best. This does work...the secret is finding a cream with benzoyl peroxide, applying it in an even, not too thick layer to the affected area, setting the figure in the sun, and patience. Let it sit for a day, wash it off, reapply as needed and repeat. Sounds weird, but I swear it works.

That’s awful, I had a similar problem with the Fan Central Bobby Heenan’s Jacket. Had the same issue. Removed the jacket for the time being. Plan to try the oxy10 suggestion.
