Whether you like it or not, in some instances, JAKKS had better scans - that's just a fact. Which? Some of the HBKs,Punks, Edge, Undertakers. I hate Mattel's Edge, wouldn't even pay $9 for the SS elite at Walmart. Jakks afro Andre is better than Mattel's sculpt. Probably Eddie Guerrero too.

What is best is entirely subjective. It's also progression. Someone will likely come along down the road, with better design tech, and surpass what Mattel is doing right now. I like lots of wrestling lines and have my favorites from each. I can still look at my OSFTM ECW figures and love them as much, if not more, than a new Mattel Elite. We don't have guys like Raven, Scott Steiner, Buff Bagwell, or how about WM17 Edge, 97 Anvil or a ing hHh Trips? Also, after 8ish years of waiting, that Dude Love figure sucks and JJ Dillon has a hot air balloon for a head. I enjoy my Mattel figures, it's a fun hobby, but in 2018, Hasbro makes better action figures imo, and NECA makes better likenesses at the same price point. I'm hoping New Japan locks in a figure deal. I'd love to see what actual competition can do beyond poorly copying Jakks figures and selling them for unreasonable prices.

Nostalgia aside, Mattel elites are definitely the best ever.

The Best? Galoob. Why? 14 inch Lex Luger. Second Best? OSFTM. Why? Vibrating Lex Luger. 😂😂😂😂

They are, and that doesnt say THAT much IMO. Wrestling figures have always been spotty. I still think they are still a bit cartoonish. great articulation but the over the top muscles and arms that cant sit at their sides bothers me. They should examine Neca's stuff

This may go done as one of the most ridiculous, and unintentionally funny posts I will ever read. I’d critique each silly point you made, but I’m quite sure I’d have a terrible headache after doing so. By all means though, please post more!

I will always maintain that wrestling figures seem to be about 10 years behind all other action figure lines on the market for some reason, but out of all of the retail lines we've gotten so far, Mattel is easily the best.
Any time a company geared toward higher end toys like SH Figuarts dabbles in wrestling figures though, Mattel looks like a joke.

It's entirely subjective, and obviously there's always the nostalgia factor. For my money, Mattel hits the perfect mix of high detail figures, movement, durability for play, and depth of roster.
I haven't played with an action figure since the Clinton administration. But I like that these figures feel durable and like something that would hold up well under rough play. As a kid, I wanted my wrestling matches to feel and sound like real matches. The amount of neck bumps my figures took would make even an NJPW fan squeamish. I don't collect other toy lines, but they don't seem nearly as durable as Mattel's wrestling figures.
And while they're largely just in the right time, right place, I love the depth of the roster Mattel has been able to produce. I never would have dreamed of having high detail figures of Sting, Bruno Sammartino, and Stone Cold all in the same style and scale. Any kid who tried to play with Galoob and Hasbo or Jakks and Toybiz figures together has to be in heaven right now. Add in that through NXT we've gotten figure of many of the top US indy guys over the past 10 years, and it has to be considered the deepest wrestling roster to date. Again, Mattel didn't do anything beyond be in the right time at the right place, but it is a little mind blowing as a fan and collector.

I’d been out of collecting since early TTL bar a handful of classic superstars I bought then later threw out. Elites got me back in big time and I have 100’s of figures including retro and gone back and got a bunch of hasbro.
Mattel easily is the best. Not perfect but they make a ton of great figures.

I started collecting wrestling figures when I was a kid with the LJN line. Then I quickly converted over to the Hasbros. Then as the Hasbro line was winding down I was becoming a teenager and didn’t care about collecting anymore. I started again a little over 2 years ago and I did so because I was legitimately impressed by what I was seeing on the shelves from Mattel. They got me back into collecting not only their figures, but also have made me restart an LJN collection as well as continue my Hasbro collection (surprisingly I managed to keep ALL my Hasbros from when I was a kid).
Mattel makes what I would consider the perfect figure for accurate looks/attires, nostalgia/cool factor, collectability, articulation, durability, availability, and overall fun factor. I’ve met buddies of mine thru collecting and even managed to get a couple of my friends into collecting as well. It’s been a lot of fun for me and I credit Mattel with a lot of that, so they get my vote as the best.

The Hasbro line is the best ever, because that was the line when I was a kid. WCW Galoobs are the second best for the same reason Jakks are the worst because they were the line that replaced the Hasbros, and thus ended my childhood (says the 34 year old man writing on a wrestling figure forum ) I’m happy to make Mattel third however, since they make the Retros that remind me of my youth with the Hasbro line But objectively, the Mattel line looks pretty awesome from what I can see. If I was a child today with this selection and quality of figures, I’d probably have bankrupted my parents
