For the last decade and a half WWE gives us a product that most Attitude/adult fans complain is way too kid-like. Then all of a sudden, a mid-card match in September 2018 comes along and we have Randy Orton penetrating Jeff Hardy's ear lobe with a screwdriver. I don't know how to describe it...it reminded me of either something from IWA: Mid-South, CZW, or an action we'd see from The Joker in a dark '80s Batman graphic novel. This didn't fit the times or the company at all. What place will that spot have in the history books? It doesn't match up with anything or make any sense.
It almost seemed like pornography.

It will probably be in a "WWE Top 10" on their youtube channel in a couple years (or days) called "Top 10 Moments that made fans sick to their stomach"

It was nasty. But I like that it's not an overly used weapon.
Not sure what kind of porn you watch, so maybe it is... to you.

When Orton grabbed the screwdriver I was like “oh wow he’s gonna stick it through his ear” I was not expecting him to twist the damn thing three times in his ear lobe!!! It was crazy

Am I the only one that got more out of the rivets ripping Ortons back and the chair tearing at his leg than that screwdriver spot?

It was the second time something happened in a wrestling match that made me almost puke. The first was the Funk/Sabu barbwire match in ECW. I can't watch that match. It's too much for me seeing them get all cut up so bad that Sabu was bandaging himself in the middle of the match with freakin' duct tape. I know the screwdriver in the earhole move was staged and perfectly safe yet I had to turn away.

Man, you would love the most extreme ultaviolent match tommy Dreamer was in last week, where he emptied a trashcan in a crowd and ate a trash pickle.

I thought it was one of the more creative things done in the last few years.

That might make me puke, but mostly because I really don't like pickles and don't understand how anyone can eat them, fresh out of the bottle or plucked from the trash.

I think someone should use the screwdriver to start stretching their ears. Actually usually it to make the hole and keep twisting until it eventually pops.

Don't know what the hell kind of porn you're watching.
The spot served it's intended purpose, and judging by the reactions here, it did just that.

You know I was thinking something similar. Since the company has gone PG there has been no blood and even Daniel Bryan got fired for chocking Justin Roberts. Then Orton does one of the most grotesque things in WWE history.
I have never felt sick watching WWE before and IMO that was something you would see in a horror film not a PG product.

One of the most creative spots in years. It’ll be memorable for happening during an era that has almost no creativity.

Ok, since last night, I've seen a lot of the comments about people saying it almost made them sick, and I just watched it again, and maybe I'm just desensitized to certain things, but I don't see it that bad. It's not like Orton jammed the screwdriver into Jeff's ear, piercing it, he put it in a hole that was big enough for him to be able to put a finger through. Yeah, the twisting of it, was a bit teeth clenching, but I've seen a lot sicker things done in wrestling than that.

Would love for the company to justify how they feel this spot is totally Ok to televise, but an intentional drop of blood or chair shot to the head is totally off limits and where they draw the line.
