There may not be any left, if Mattel produced, I dont know, 5000 cases, and those have all been distributed among the stores, they wont be able to order more, and seeing as the line has been cancelled, they may not be making more Yep and for those people who wanted to buy a whole set for the figures and the baf parts what now ? They are totally fracked that's what. I doubt there will be a revision case with 3 Harley Race figures. Why is it so hard for mattel to not shortpack baf series figures ? This should be common sense. They always short pack the figures that wouldnt sell as well, it is weird to do it in a BAF setup, but out of the set, Race would be the one that wouldnt sell as well had it NOT been a BAF

The cancellation of the line kind of throws a wrench in this but I would assume Mattel would be more worried about guys not turning into the next Tito (for the welfare of the series to continue) and not too worried about 100% complete ratio of Commisioner Michaels being out there. They’d rather take their chances on Austin selling faster, rather than Harley Race. It sucks but I don’t blame them
Plus these are 4 pretty good figures, that would probably sell regardless of the HBK piece in the package or not. That probably played a part in it

Christmas is in a few weeks I'm gonna wait it out I'm thanking these are going to start popping up this month its crazy to pay a lot of money for these figures I have $17.97 per figure at Walmart I don't have $50 per figure on Ebay I don't see how some people can waste that much money on a elite, to each it's own I wouldn't do it, HAPPY HUNTING my fellow collectors.

Scary to think we might have to pay eBay prices for these. It reminds me a little of the Wrestlemania elites from earlier in the year. Orton was getting towards $100 on evil bay, but then a restock hit - and now he is easy to get. Variable is Flashbacks is an exclusive to Walmart and Fam Central is heading to Walmart. Guess it’s just the wait and see, but would love to get some clarification from MattelDesignTeam on this one...

Short packing Race looks like an odd decision from the outside. But it's impossible to know all the context. From Bill's past comments he obviously thinks there is limited demand for 80's characters. Maybe Mattel has data that backs that up. Maybe it's a just his opinion. Maybe it's the opinion of one of the higher ups and he just has to go with what his bosses are telling him to do. Maybe the silver lining to all this will be Mattel realizing they underestimated demand for these kinds of figures moving forward. Sounds more dumb than odd. By short packing one of the figures, doesn't that mean that not every one will be able to complete the build-a-figure Shawn Michaels. If it was regularly going to be two of each per box then you would be able to build two Shawn Michaels. But with only one Harley Race and 3 Austins, doesn't that mean you can only build one Shawn Michaels and the second Shawn wouldn't have arms but an extra torso? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a build-a-figure set? It defeats the purpose for someone who is buying them to complete the build-a-figure, yes. But not everybody is doing that - again, the market for these toys is more than just completists from Wfigs. A lot of people will just buy a Stone Cold figure because it's a Stone Cold figure, they're not dropping another $60 on the other guys. When Mattel used to pack the old TRU build-a-figure cases evenly, the less desirable characters would sit for months.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a build-a-figure set? Although this is not an ideal situation, the logical thing would be for one of the 3 Austins to come with the same parts that the Harley Race figure comes with. Unfortunately this would mean you need to buy 2 Austins in order to complete the BAF but its better than not being able to find these parts at all due to the Race figure being short packed. I suspect that the HBK BAF was destined for the basic BAF line but since it was cancelled and the parts likely had already been made they stuck them in the elite set.

Safe to ignore her, she's just a miserable, defensive spud. Fixed. So you think its a good idea to have to buy 2 of the same figure to complete a BAF? I stand corrected, there are 2 of you.

Has anyone asked ringside how many of these were actually produced? I dont think Ringside would know since they are a Walmart exclusive. Maybe they should ask Walmart or Mattel.

🖕🏻Scalpers, man 😡 I try to help others in the hobby, people that use this as a side business to rip people off, are pathetic. There are some good people that run businesses, don’t get me wrong, but the ones that buy up all the inventory at the store and are on some sort of assistance because they dont want to actually work, are the main problem. Also, Mattel distribution is asinine. So called scalpers cant be blamed if a store doesnt stock a product, I looked on ebay and there arent any Race figures listed, so that theory doesnt stack up. Not to mention the fact that some people have reported finding and buying it. Mattel Distribution, this is another of my pet hates, you mean STORE distribution? Unless you know Walmart have ordered it and Mattel havent shipped it? Which is an insane suggestion, Mattel want their product on the pegs. I check the websites of the scalpers in my area and not one of them has these. They just didn’t make it to all parts of the world. I blame Walmart.

It never hit any Walmarts in my a 1.5 hour radius around my house. We just got Series 2 a couple months ago, some Walmarts got it in last month. I don't expect to see Series 3 until after Christmas.

Walmart rushed this series out due to the line's cancellation, I imagine. Everyone was in a rush to snag the set online when it became apparent not many stores would see it. All have sold out in a day or two when some were trickling in on the site, but haven't noticed them up in a while. This is similar to what happened with Walmart's TNF Elites. First set performed well, second sat on shelves forever, and the third was difficult to find in brick-and-mortar stores because so few received them. Maybe this will become a similar situation and all the cases end up online eventually. Austin will be the only one that really approaches the $10 mark I will guess, but they all have to go somewhere. So wait, why and when was this line cancelled??

Bill said they are putting it on hold because it is taking up shelf space in stores for regular elite lines and that is what mattel is more concerned about. At least that is what I heard in one of the interviews with bill after Ringside fest (i think) that was posted on this forum.

I have a huge collection. Massive! Was even featured by Mcfarlane toys ... but the one thing I have been begging for on these boards has been legends. I know we have a lot of support here but we have the naysayers too who tell us over and over that they would never make Bob Backlund and Harley Race. "Those guys are too old and nobody cares about them". Now we can't find them anywhere. Hmmm? Race is hardly seen on ebay what's the deal, gang? Nobody cares about Legends huh? Even if he is one in a box if nobody cares he should be plentiful. Well, I do care and have made that crystal clear here. I do want him. I don't want them to sell, not to have mint in a box, just to open and display with my other collection, but I will NOT spend 30 bucks for a figure. I love my fellow collectors and really love this line and have spent a small fortune on it ... but if Mattel and Walmart do not fix this problem and prevent me from getting it ... I will be done and that will cost both companies a small fortune. There is NO REASON in this day and age why they can't show that figure online and pre-sell the crap out of it. They produce what is pre-bought plus some and everyone wins it's that simple. Fix it guys you can do this. Mattel please let us know we can get Race in elites or on-line? I don't like idol threats and love the product but there's no way with technology the way it is that we shouldn't all be able to land the figure and the doubting thomas' should never buy them since they are on here all of the time saying they wouldn't. It's amazing that some of us are now looking at Walmart's order sheets to see what is in stock or not ... the disease of being an avid long time collector is making me question the hobby.
If there are any kind collectors who could relate to me and have a Harley Race figure that I can buy from them please let me know. Gratefully
