www.pwtorch.com/site/2019/01/29/dean-ambrose-leaving-wwe-shortly-after-wrestlemania-when-his-contract-expires-in-april/ Contract expires in April, he has told Vince he isn't signing a new one, no matter the money. Sounds like he is retiring from wrestling rather than being AEW bound. Felt like one of those guys who were gonna be a solid hand for WWE forever, not retired at 33. Good source on this aswell, not just some BS shot in the dark like 99% of all wrestling scoops. WWE issues this statement on Tuesday: "Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April. We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.”

If true this is his chance to take advantage of his own creative freedom. We need more Ambrose in HHH face.

I didn't read that as him retiring at all. Sounds like he's just as sick as most of us are with WWE's creative direction with him, wants the freedom to do what he wants with it, and realizes it won't get any better in WWE for him.

I just hope we get more silly oversells like he did on the curbstomp. I rewatch Hogan-Michaels so often just to laugh. If he is on his way out he won't give a toss anyway.

I just hope he's happy in whatever he decides to do. He's deserved it.

Daredevil, I posted a link to this in the other thread with the caveat that it's speculation. It seems like everyone is just jumping on hte idea that people are leaving for whatever reasons. If he gets pushed now, people will say it's because he threatened to quit. If he loses a handful of matches, people will think he's out. I'm taking a wait and see approach. These journalists know nothing. None of them saw the SES V2 faction forming and are still wondering if this is that Wyatt Family reunion. I posted 4 hours before the show that Bryan was going to form a faction with a family member. It's easy to guess what's happening and throw BS at the wall. Until Dean is effectively written off, I'm ignoring it. In the last week, there has been reports of: 1. Nakamura's contract running out and he's not resigned -> New US Champion at RR 2. Dolph Ziggler left WWE -> Number 28? at the RR. 3. Maria and Michael Bennett leaving -> Completely debunked. Now, who eats a banana like that?

Little bit over the top, but for once a cool elimination.

Don't really blame Ambrose. Hopefully he does well wherever he goes.
He is my kids favorite so he'll disappointed to hear the news.

I normally don't buy into things till we get more of an official word. But judging by the way he over sold last night, played it safe in some spots, started what looked to be a heartfelt promo, and then attacked by Nia of all people, I think I'm believing this rumor.
It's a damn shame if true. But I will admit they could/should have done SOOO much more with him.

Sounds like BS. It says he claims he’s been frustrated with his character for a long time. He just turned heel like 3 months ago? Something he’s wanted lol and prior to that he was out for basically a full year. So how can he have been frustrated for a LONG time if he’s barely had the character.

You guys remember when Kevin Owens did the same exact thing and then sat in the ring, said he quit, and then people thought it was legitimate and he was on his way out? Lol

Something he’s wanted lol and prior to that he was out for basically a full year. So how can he have been frustrated for a LONG time if he’s barely had the character. It said he was frustrated with the corniness & hokiness of his character, which it has basically been since 2014. The only time he was really serious was the Dolph feud after winning the title. And his heel turn was followed up by getting a needle in his ass and becoming a germophobe. Do you really think that sounds like something Ambrose would be thrilled with? Not to mention he nearly died last year. Might have changed his perspective on wanting to keep grinding away with something he isn't satisfied with. Especially when he did that interview a few months ago, saying he was really only motivated by doing something he really likes with his character now.

He's become so stale and annoying from a couple of years now that i wouldn't feel his absence if he will leave. Even when he was champion seems he acted like a lazy ass.
