As title says. Worse is Mattel made a vintage Lawler but instead of 92/93 period they went with a rehash of the one JAKKS already did with the goatee. Makes zero sense to me why we are still waiting so there has to be a reason.

Makes zero sense why we haven't seen a lot of guys (some of whom are no longer under contract) made as Flashbacks...Hell, it's taken a decade to get a 1999/2000 Triple H. It is what it is unfortunately.

Why haven’t we gotten many many more Surfer Sting elite figure? Why is it 2019 and we just now saw a prototype for an hHh trunks Triple H?

I think the Lawlers they made so far made sense (then-modern WM, old school Memphis, then-modern commentary Basic), so I'm not too upset, but they 100% need to do the blue/white WWF King (and a commentator King with the jacket from the late 90s!). His HOF figure did very well, so I don't think there's much worry that people aren't interested in King or anything.

New Gen guys typically have sold well. Every Lawler has sold well. Nearly every figure with a king gimmick has sold well. Seems like a no brainer.

It’s been in my top wants since day 1. I always thought Mattel would knock it outta the park. Imagine a 93 Lawler blue/white with the crowns down the leg cape & crown in the old legends series style packaging?

Obviously their MO is pumping out lower demand versions before making the iconic attire, getting consumers to buy multiple copies. But it's weird to see how they make a bunch of figures of some guys in quick succession, and others have this slow burn spread out over the past decade.
It amazes me that we only have one M$M Elite (perfect for the UE line, imo). We get 2-3 Austin Elites a year, yet nothing from the Stunning Steve or Blondes era? Yet we get 3 Fred Ottman in quick succession. There's just no rhyme or reason. We still wait on Team Xtreme Hardyz, despite knowing Jeff is one slip up away from being released.
I get that you can't blow through everything at once or you'll shoot yourself in the foot 2-3 years later when you need high demand figures. But we're a decade into this line. It's amazing what hasn't been made in that time. And then you get situations like Jericho, where Bill waits too for years and years holding back WCW Jericho, and then when they look like they're finally going to slot him in - boom, he's not under contract.

He was such a no brainer for the Retro line...
I’d take him in his attire from the Piper match. That one and the Bret match is most how I remember him as a wrestler. A second head with the HOF figure would have been perfect since that’s really the Bad Boys/Iconic Lawler anyway.

I would love a blue and white, early ‘90’s Lawler! You would think with the amount of flashbacks that get recycled with sometimes only minor changes, they would have made this version of The King by now, but here’s hoping!

Probably because there aren't any figures of 13 year olds to make him interested in showing up

I've wanted an early 90s Lawler in black/red for years now similar to the BCA series 4 figure. No idea why we haven't gotten one yet.

Lawler is a real mystery since it's not like there's a ton of other New Generation heels to go with now. My pipe dream choice would be Hakushi. Is it possible he's even less likely than Owen?
