Apparently the cause of the recall might be the fact that so many sonyas are being found without the skirt. Without the skirt?? Why would it be recalled??

hey just got back from a Target in Northeast Philly where they had both Sonya Deville (the accurate 1 with the skirt that I need) and Liv Morgan on the shelf along with the rest of Elite 69. I went to the self checkout, and both figures WOULD NOT ring up, employee came over to help, still nothing. Then a second lady who was a real a-hole comes over and basically takes the figures out of my hand and says she can't sell them to me, and brings them over to a supervisor, who was even more of a jerk. I did my best to explain the situation to people who obviously don't know, nor care about wrestling figures, but nobody would do anything. I tried to get them to scan any of the other elites but those would not ring up either. So I left empty handed. My question is, has anyone had this issue at Target recently?? I am pretty pissed, I really wanted that Sonya, and was going to get Liv for my girlfriend and now who knows if I'll find them again. I had the same type of issue today. I was at self check out and needed help. The old lady wasn't hearing me, so I told here to save it and I'd go to customer service. I explained to them what's up and we went back to toys. We grabbed an E69, Elite Top Talents, and Elite Network figure. E69 were scanning as unsellable (without reason - MOD said she wondered if they were recalled, but the figures have links to their site), but Liv scanned as "deleted" from their system. Top Talents and Network figures scanned fine, however. In the end, they sold me Liv as an "AS IS" figure for $13.99 and she scanned it twice for Sonya. I got pretty lucky. If I were you, I would take a Top Talent or Network figure with you and go to self-check and scan that figure twice. A little shady, but still a $19.99 figure so no "real" harm done. Good luck! that. Scan a basic. They owe you for all the bs you've put up with. Unstocked shelves, etc.

A stunner or rock bottom on an employee & they’ll sell it to you.

Man there are way to masny problems since series 69 came out. First half the country didn't get rocks at walmart. The whole $7 situation messed up inventories everywhere at walmarts. Now you literally can't even buy any elites from target at the moment unless you scan something different.

I just found a liv Morgan and a Sonya Deville and they wouldn’t let me buy them. The manager said they must be defective or something or they’re not allowed to sell them. I asked them if they’re going to put them back on the shelves and she told me that they’re going to pull all the wrestling figures from that series off the shelves because they’re not supposed to be sold. Lol

I don’t know why so many people on this board have so much trouble with store associates. It really must be how you guys interact with them or something I tried to buy an Elite Kurt Angle last week and was told it was street dated. I just laughed and said it's been out for months. They didn't believe me and wouldn't let me buy it.

Just found Sonya and had the same issue trying to checkout with her.
Fortunately the manager was helpful and allowed me to purchase the figure.

A stunner or rock bottom on an employee & they’ll sell it to you. Nah, stunner the corporate idiots that do this to the employees on the floor. A lot of the time retail employees want to help you but the dumb computer system won't let us and then we get yelled at by customers for something we didn't decide.

Just found Sonya and Liv and had the same problem. First person couldn't help, but the supervisor just rang them up at 19.99 each for me.
Now who wants to trade a Pete Dunne for a Liv Morgan?

This is ridiculous. Corporate has it as a recall on all WWE Elites, but no real information or reason why.

When I got my Liv Morgan, it didn't ring up. The person at the check out took it to customer service. The customer service lady came over and was like "ugh, I hate these things. They NEVER scan anymore". I was like "I think it's $19.99". She was like "eh, let's make it $14.89/$14.98 (I don't remember which one she did), it's probably discontinued or something", and I said "That works for me, thank you".
Seems like you just need to score a person that wants to help vs. a person that doesn't care. I would have been really disappointed if they had just taken it away from me. Probably never would have ended up getting it ever if that was the case.
Hopefully Target corrects this and maybe finally realizes that the DPCI method is really flawed and ridiculous if you are going to street date, because it makes EXISTING PRODUCT essentially impossible to buy because the system thinks it's what you are trying to save.
Do we know if this is happening to any other toys, or is this just a WWE thing? If they are street dating to stockpile toys for the holiday shopping time, it would probably affect other things.

It’s not a recall. If it was it would be listed in their system as one and they would also be pulled from the pegs and the website.

Target gave me a different word that meant recall.. but clarified that it wasn't an ACTUAL recall. Mattel suggested they are aware of the Sonya Deville issue and passed that along to Target. Putting the pieces together.. I'm relatively sure that Target screwed up when trying to pull the Sonya Deville figures from the shelf, and ended up screwing the entire Elite line DPCIs.

Mattel has nothing WWE street dated according to the customer service rep. Target may, but this particular issue doesn't seem related to street dated things, and instead to an internal pulling of a particular item or items by Target.

Target does it with every reset. They’ll have product come in and those pallets will be held in back for their reset date. So even though the manufacturer didn’t have a street date Target will say it’s street dated even though it isn’t really. Somehow though with the wwe elite figures they aren’t taking into consideration the DPCI is the same.
And why would they recall Sonya? If you read the product description details on Mattel’s site or any site that list them the last thing it says is “Colors and Decorations may vary” which is their protection for things like that where the figure is different from the proto pics.
