E V E R Y major retailer street-dates certain product lines this time of year. I don't know for certain if that's what's happening here, but if it is (and circumstantial evidence would corroborate such a suggestion), then there's at least an off-hand chance that those of you running into this barrier now may be looking at better stocking situations than you've seen for some time over the next two months.
It's actually funny to me to see Target screw something up this fantastically (if that's what's at play here), because on the spectrum of major retailers I've worked for (namely Wal-Mart, Target, and Sears), I'd never put Sears above Target in terms of being able to manage holiday-drive merchandising adequately, but here we are. Eddie Lampert has basically spent the last fourteen years rewriting the book on retail incompetence. Nevertheless, Sears would always bring in product lines for its various gift bar displays, and it was nearly identical to lines it carried year-round, but whenever it came in as a holiday driver, it was always brought in under a different five-digit item number to avoid inventory co-mingling. If your year-round eight piece ratcheting box wrench set's item number was 45454, the holiday edition that would be pushed for Black Friday might be 46464. That way, the latter number could be street dated, tracked separately, and priced to move following the close of the holiday shopping season. It sounds more simple on paper than the execution ever plays out in reality, but at the same time, I never, ever, ever had a customer cut off at the pass trying to buy a year round product in October because we'd started accumulating our holiday stock early.

I found a Liv Morgan and knew it wouldn't scan (the other two Liv's I found didn't ring up even before this big issue started) so I picked up a network spotlight Diesel as well, put it on top of the Liv so it'd be scanned first and told the employee the Liv was the same price when it wouldn't ring up. I guess I've gotten pretty lucky with Target employees.

When the Sonya and Liv wouldn’t scan I just said they were all the same price and it was no problem. Next day I returned AJ and Finn

Found liv and sonya today but got denied by the register. Thought of the scan a network spotlight after it was too late. The manager already was having them all pulled to be sent back to mattel.

This line continues to be a comedy of errors, regardless of who is at fault.

It's not only a Mattel problem. I can buy the Transformer shown below from Amazon and have it delivered tomorrow. Not my thumb:

I ran into this last night and they refused to sell kassius Ohno and a couple guys from elite 71. I had them hold them for me (like they will do for 24 hours at Target). I called today before I headed to the start and asked them if they scanned and could sell them to me, they told me they worked. I headed to Target, still very skeptical about what was going to happen, but the rang me up and sold them to me. So maybe the problem is getting fixed, maybe they decided to bi-pass the system so I wouldn’t pester them. Either way I was able to get the figures and I hope that everyone else will start seeing success in getting these figures.

Ok this may be unethical but I'm going to throw it out there. Has anyone tried to bribe an employee to sell it to you when it doesn't ring up? It has crossed my mind several times if I should offer a bribe if I were in that situation but I havent encountered that problem yet.

I got lucky. The associates at my Target just manually priced Liv Morgan and Sonya Deville for $19.99 each since they knew Elites were that price. They told me that it was some glitch and that there were no street dates on both those figures to keep them from selling.

Hide them, then come back in a few days to grab them. I had the same issue when I finally found Mustafa Ali. Wouldn’t scan, no prices, and wouldn’t ring up. They just rang it up and put the regular $19.99 price on it and I left with him. This. So much this. I used to do the same thing when I was a kid. Good hiding spots: In the cereal aisle behind the gross cereal (Product 19, Grape Nuts, etc.), inside the microwave ovens on display, in the arts & craft aisle in the yarn.

I called 2 different target stores today, both looked like they got cases in according to popfindr. One is 70 miles away, the other is 90 miles in opposite directions. I was polite and asked if they could name off what was on the shelf. The target employees where as helpful as they could be.
Both stores the 2 different target associates only name a few figures and no overstock. One store is suppose to have 12 and the other is suppose to have 19. Both stores jumped by 8 in the last 2 days.
So now is target holding or pulling the cases or something ?? I am just flabbergasted. Thanks to this recall or whatever the hell. I can't even have a slim chance of finding these damn Chase figures. This is just utter nonsense and bullcrap.

Well if that's the case, hopefully target does not correct it and sales nosedive because on hands are all wrong. Anything to end this Chase bullsheet will work for me.

I was able to purchase adam cole last night no issues
As it was mentioned before if you still have this issue take an older elite or battlepack to self check out. Ring up the item for a price and take the one you want.

Same exact thing happened to me yesterday. A Target in Orlando jumped from 3 to 11 and I went there and they associate was helpful and went up and checked and confirmed they are hard-locked. Which basically means they are untouchable until further notice. He said they could decide to release them and stock them or send them back, he didnt know. Idk if it was 69 or 71 because they got 69 3 weeks ago, so I was hoping it was 71. Probably won't find out.
