hey just got back from a Target in Northeast Philly where they had both Sonya Deville (the accurate 1 with the skirt that I need) and Liv Morgan on the shelf along with the rest of Elite 69.
I went to the self checkout, and both figures WOULD NOT ring up, employee came over to help, still nothing. Then a second lady who was a real a-hole comes over and basically takes the figures out of my hand and says she can't sell them to me, and brings them over to a supervisor, who was even more of a jerk.
I did my best to explain the situation to people who obviously don't know, nor care about wrestling figures, but nobody would do anything. I tried to get them to scan any of the other elites but those would not ring up either. So I left empty handed.
My question is, has anyone had this issue at Target recently?? I am pretty pissed, I really wanted that Sonya, and was going to get Liv for my girlfriend and now who knows if I'll find them again.

Hide them, then come back in a few days to grab them. I had the same issue when I finally found Mustafa Ali. Wouldn’t scan, no prices, and wouldn’t ring up. They just rang it up and put the regular $19.99 price on it and I left with him.

Ask for a manager, cashier just didn't have a clue on how to ring them up a different way.

Next time that happens ask to speak to the store executive consultant. The manager or cashier leads are no help in those situations.

I don’t know why so many people on this board have so much trouble with store associates.
It really must be how you guys interact with them or something

I've only had it with Liv Morgan. I was really worried they might not sell it to me but the self checkout guy just asked how much it was and put it in the computer.

This just happened to me. On that E71 craze, ended up wanting to buy E49 Becky Lynch for "head insurance." I got blocked at the register, where the POS showed a "red screen of death" preventing the sale & calling for a manager. Team Leader gave me a shallow explanation that it's either "recalled, street-dated, or just not able to sell it anymore." I was like, "Um, this series has been for sale by your store, like, 2 years ago." She answered, "It doesn't matter. We just can't sell it to you."
Ugh. >_>

I am pretty pissed, I really wanted that Sonya, and was going to get Liv for my girlfriend and now who knows if I'll find them again. I had the same type of issue today. I was at self check out and needed help. The old lady wasn't hearing me, so I told here to save it and I'd go to customer service. I explained to them what's up and we went back to toys. We grabbed an E69, Elite Top Talents, and Elite Network figure. E69 were scanning as unsellable (without reason - MOD said she wondered if they were recalled, but the figures have links to their site), but Liv scanned as "deleted" from their system. Top Talents and Network figures scanned fine, however. In the end, they sold me Liv as an "AS IS" figure for $13.99 and she scanned it twice for Sonya. I got pretty lucky. If I were you, I would take a Top Talent or Network figure with you and go to self-check and scan that figure twice. A little shady, but still a $19.99 figure so no "real" harm done. Good luck!

I ran across an E51 Mankind and tried to buy it a few weeks back. They said they can’t sell it to me. But I didn’t think anything of it. Figured it was too old. Guess it was whatever this issue is that’s going on now

The rep couldn't give me an answer why the DPCI was flagged, but said that they have received multiple calls about this issue from other guests, & that I am "more than welcome to buy WWE Elite Collection figures on target.com." And for my troubles, he comped me a $10 Target Gift Card. WTF.

I work at Target now, and the issue is that a lot of toys are being street dated for the holidays. So, stores are getting E71 with a memo that says they are not to be sold until mid-November. The issue is that all elites have the same DCPI. Its just a big mess that employees at all Targets are going to take way too seriously. In all honesty, it was just a butcher job by their pricing office and they are trying to stay safe and fully-stocked for a really profitable holiday season.

A corporate office making life difficult for the retail grunts; haven’t seen that before

Apparently the cause of the recall might be the fact that so many sonyas are being found without the skirt.

Target has a street date of 1/1/20, on one of the newer Transformers, like WWE it shares the same dpci of the current wave. Target randomly assigning street dates has happened three other times this year just with Transormers. Two Transformers released in late April/early May had street dates of 6/27 and 7/15, iirc. Another one released in September had a 10/6 street date, same day as the Network Spotlight wave.

The street date stuff with Target is a joke. I honestly used to be an advocate for them until all of this system wide stuff started happening. Between this and always having to ask for an advertised sale price, because the computer conveniently doesn’t automatically adjust, I’m just over it. I’d rather pay scalpers on eBay than deal with them.
