Apparently Black also wanted to go back to NXT but it was denied. I can’t see him renewing his contract and I can see him possibly purposely siding with Vega in an attempt to get fired The main roster must be real bad if talent are asking to be on NXT. But really, all 3 brands hold shows in an empty building in Orlando, so Raw and Smackdown arent exactly a bigger stage than NXT right now.

That came out of nowhere. Hope Black doesn't follow. well he was denied his request to go back to NXT so I wouldn't be surprised

Do you really think if she's pushing for unionization that any company would really want to risk bringing her in? Could she go elsewhere if she stops pushing the union thing, sure. But if that her sole intention, nobody will hire her. I know AEW is the saving grace of life on earth, but you seen how quickly Cody backtracked a year ago when he mentioned unions. That is because it's not something any company wants. AEW and Impact both allow their wrestlers to function as true independent contractors - they are freely able to take outside bookings, generate third party income, etc. You're going to find a lot less appetite for unionization in a company where talent feel that they are treated fairly and within the scope of the law. I think this is very much a WWE-specific issue right now. Is it something AEW would want to deal with? No. But I'd argue if you're treating employees fairly and compensating them appropriately, it's not something you will deal with. They would, because they're small-time. Why would the biggest wrestling company in the world, let their extremely, well-paid talent work for other companies?

Very shocking release. Definitely seems tied to the recent social media/Twitch mandate and possibly her unionization tweet (although I'd assume the decision to release her was made before that tweet). She is very talented on the mic and I have been impressed the few times I've seen her wrestle.
I can't see this boding too well for Aleister Black either. Part of me actually hopes he is also released if that's what he wants otherwise I fear he'll find himself in a Lana or FTR situation. I know it's cliche at this point but AEW would benefit tremendously from having Zelina and Aleister join their roster.

I can’t feel to bad for these people that have dream jobs and then go “know what it’s actually my dream job to just play video games or say thank you all day on twitch.” I do not understand.
I work for a much smaller company and yeah, it’s a conflict of interest if I go and work for competition or another company that the current one I’m with could benefit from.

It’s like driving for Uber on your days off

Seems like some might be “renegading” it without consent, where some work with the company to get approved for twitch/YouTube type stuff. Again doesn’t make it right, but if my dream was WWE I would tow the line a bit harder. Their choice.

Do you really think if she's pushing for unionization that any company would really want to risk bringing her in? She got the tweet out for attention/internet points after her “creative’s got nothing for ya” call came in. More power to her too, I bet she’s had an increase in twitch subs/onlyfans subs/used ring wear buyers in the last 24 hours. The union stuff will go super quiet when she gets a new job. It’s a shame she’s gone, she was probably the best talents in the women’s division outside of the Favored Five. I hope she lands in AEW - sure it’s another WWE cast-off, but their division desperately needs more good talent. I think she could be a difference-maker there.

Yeah, I can’t see the union talk being anything more than this. Only thing I’m confused about is that it wasn’t 2 months ago she was saying how Vince loved her character and that she reminded him of Stephanie. If that’s the case, why not wait it out a little longer to see if Vince’s words turned into a massive push, then when the fall came take the path of twitch and onlyfans? Unless she’s just making that much from the side deals and the schedule just wasn’t for her.

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet on here, but former 90210 star Gabrielle Cateris who played Andrea is the head of some union thing and she tweeted out to Zelina backing her and looking to help her with this cause.

Contrary to belief you can still get fired from a union job.

I don't want to start a political debate, but this is exactly why you lot need MUCH stronger unionisation over there, and for a serious reform of your labour rules. It's completely ridiculous.

Contrary to belief you can still get fired from a union job. True. It just takes a long, long time. They basically have to investigate every last word that was said to see if the employer did anything wrong along the lines of termination. Unions made more sense before we had laws against discrimination and rules forcing companies to pay of a worker got hurt in the job. Now, the majority of the cases they look into assume that the owner or upper management are out to get the employee from the start, which tend to cause delays and more money spent than necessary. I still think by her posts that she wanted her release to keep the side hustle. The union talk was just a statement to get more followers to see what else she’d say.
