Scalpers suck. If I don't show up on the day Walmart puts items out scalpers clean off the shelves of any figure that has any aftermarket value...

I would love to be present when any of the people on here posting run into a scalper in person. Lots of really hateful and derogatory things being said. I'd bet my collection not one word of that would be said in an in person encounter. I actually ran into a board member in a store about a year ago who accused me straightaway of being a scalper because I was looking for royal rumble elite macho. He did it in a way that was more "think about the children" as opposed to the keyboard samurai which made it much more comical for me.

Theyre hustling and making money while you are mad at how and why they do it.... its called playing the game and winning. Buying up collectibles or concert tickets to scalp is not “winning” in my mind. It’s parasitical. They are like human mosquitoes and they’re annoying everyone else doing their “hustle.” But whatever, it’s not illegal, and if it’s all people with IQ’s below freezing can do in a society; it is what it is. Its not what it is. Do you have these figures? If you do and you sell them, your opinion of scalping might change Hall of Champions 3 Ultimate Warrior Flashback Series 3 King Harley Race Elite 63 Bob Backlund Elite 64 Pete Dunne Elite 65 Sensational Sherri Elite 66 Alexander Wolfe NXT Elite 4 Aleister Black NXT Elite 4 Drew McIntyre Elite 68 Pat Patterson Elite 69 Liv Morgan Elite 70 Gerald Brisco Network Spotlight Asuka Survivor Series Elite Don Muraco Elite 71 Kassius Ohno Elite 72 Gorilla Monsoon Elite 73 Peyton Royce Royal Rumble Elite Macho King Randy Savage Network Spotlight Wendi Richter Elite 74 Jim the Anvil Neidhart Elite 75 Billie Kay Elite 77 Classy Freddie Blassie Legends 7 Greg "The Hammer" Valentine Elite 78 Superstar Billy Graham Elite 79 Undertaker Legends 8 Jake "The Snake" Roberts Decade of Domination John Cena Elite 80 Rocky Johnson Decade of Domination Kane Royal Rumble Elite Ultimate Warrior Elite 82 Davey Boy Smith

He did it in a way that was more "think about the children" as opposed to the keyboard samurai which made it much more comical for me. During the Great Pete Dunne Wars of 2019, I made my way over to a Target on my lunch and happened across a fresh case of E64. I wanted the Dunne, so I grabbed the Dunne. At the time, I wasn't in a position to buy multiple figures in one trip (lot more expendable cash these days), so I left the fresh batch of NXT 4 that was out. As I was picking through to see what else was there, someone comes down the aisle and starts shouting "you son of a bitch". This man was fuming. Grilled me, asked me if I collect or if I was just gonna put it on eBay (this one was for me), repeated the "son of a bitch" line at least a dozen more times, then offered a curt "later, man", filled his basket with NXT 4, and noped out of dodge. The next time I encountered the guy, it was on here, when a few weeks later he saw me buy a second Dunne (originally for my brother, who declined it, so I flipped it). He DM'd me to ask if I was the one he saw buy it, then recounted step-by-step where I went throughout the entire store that morning. Then he tracked me down on other media accounts. Turns out, he's our area's biggest flipper, routinely flips things for massive markups, and I'd twice denied him the opportunity to sell additional Dunnes (he'd gone through at least six when I met him) for $100+

If I miss something, whatever. I have other hobbies and things in my life. I don’t mind as much if people resell things that aren’t in stores anymore. Just seems like you’re scraping on the bottom if that’s considered your way of life.

And I have no intention of selling any of them. I have purchased many of them for friends (fellow members) at cost and shipping. He a couple of those figures I have just given to friends. And I just found a fresh case of the Muraco wave this past Sunday at my local Shop-Rite and picked up another Muraco.

GME rules: Buy & HOLD!
I bought Brisco and Patterson when I saw them on the shelves for $15.88 each. Patterson sat on eBay, quite literally, until the day he died. I actually didn't know he died, then my figure randomly sold after I got barraged with "Best Offers" and I had to look and see what was happening.
Brisco landed me an E71 Adam Cole, which I never found out my way.
One day, somebody's gonna really need a Muraco, and chaboi's gonna be walkin' on easy street.

I mean, they are charging people more than double the retail price. Do u not understand math? Upfront sure it's more than double on paper. Free shipping means $7 - $8 out of sellers pocket. Now $44 is $37. EBay fees take another $6 between item and shipping. $37 is now $31. Figure cost is $19.99 before tax. Add tax figure cost is now $21.26. $31 - $21.26 = $9.74 profit. So you have that person's time and costs to package the item and then get it to the post office in that $9.74. So when u look at the math you are not being overcharged anywhere near what you think. Maybe if they are not interested in owning the figure, and only trying to buy it and sell it, they should just avoid it all together. I buy to keep, and when I sell, it’s after some time where I may want to get rid of one figure and use the money for another. Perhaps if these people didn’t buy a figure they didn’t want, it would leave way more for actual collectors and those who would open and play with them. So at the end of the day I never care what a scalper or seller has in terms of fees and shipping, because he didn’t have to buy it in the first place.

lol I'm guilty of being at my Target, which always has good stock of all the new figures that come out, and I'm there on my phone seeing what I can make on Ebay if I were to resell it. I won't bother if I would only make 10 bucks on the figure. But if found one that I can make $50 on? Yep, I'd do it. First come, first serve.

It looks like it was any posts related to the original statements that flipping figures for a profit should be deemed a capital offense. But since we're on the subject, my kid is my favorite customer to flip my old figures to. He basically gets anyone I upgrade, so he's got a weird mish-mash of Matt Hardy, John Cena, and Edge running around. He'll be picking up an old Sasha Banks as soon as my new E83 one comes in...right around the time my Ricky Steamboat Elite should be coming in, too. So wait, you live in your mom’s basement and have a kid? Sounds like flipping figures isn’t the best business. Neither is 20,000 posts on a toy forum, especially when you have kids. Almost 3 posts a day for close to 20 years is pretty impressive.

Amazon should limit these exclusives one per customer just like entertainment Earth did Mr.t exclusive it shouldn't be any reason why people can't get these figures at retail price the scalpers going in there and buying them all up and selling them three times the price SMH for anybody that like to pay $50 for 1 figure more power to you its ridiculous to pay that much for a piece of plastic Amazon should start limiting these exclusive figures one per customer but we know that's not going to happen.

Not counting the spells where I'd disappear for a hot minute, especially around 2003 when I went off to college and fell into a real spot of trouble for a bit. I've honestly probably been more active over the past 5 years or so than I'd been for quite a while. I'd post here and there, but you really get sucked back in when you're, you know...actually collecting wrestling figures again. I registered this account when I was 16. I've now been here longer than I'd been on earth when I first signed up. Funny the things that stick with you.

This sh!# just makes me want to stop collecting, and find a new hobby. I've been trying to get a Steamboat elite since Mattel got the license (never got a Jakks Steamboat). Preferably one in white tights, and without ink smudges from his robe. You haven’t been able to get ONE steamboat figure since Mattel starting making WWE figures? It sounds like you are bad at collecting. Mattel has been around over ten years. Stop your complaining and get that Steamboat.

Please keep politics and personal insults out of this discussion.
I get that it can sometimes get heated given the topic at hand, but there's no need for it. Save yourself the time and energy and simply walk away.

BIG FIGNANCIAL ADVICE RIGHT HERE
This thread got me genuinely curious, so I dug into the recesses of my PayPal account. Over the course two years, I bought exactly five figures for the express purpose of flipping for a profit.
Total cost of goods sold: $96.47 Net sales, 1/1/19 - 12/31/20: $258.11 Net profit on 5 WWE figures: $161.64
I spent it all on more figures LOL. I'm a monster.
EDIT: Wait, that's not true. PayPal just reminded me that I spent $90 of it on a light stick for my wife because light sticks are apparently a thing in K-Pop, she's really into K-Pop, and we were going to a K-Pop concert LOL I'm a monster.
