Nice title to get peoples attention...right? In this post, I am going to be on the topic of one wrestler, one wrestler who has always annoyed me, who thinks just because he has been in the buisness almost his whole life that he is a legend. This wrestler has done a lot of crap inside and outside the ring, has an ego as big as Hulk Hogan, yet is still praised like crazy. He hasn't changed his move set since starting his wrestling career, and had been apart of a stable that I never gave crap about...can you guess this wrestler, I'm sure you know who I am talking about before I post the picture. I really don't get a lot of people, I seriously don't on this message board. Most of the people on this board are in their early teens or mid teens and praise Ric Flair for the likes of being in the horsemen, doing his stint in WWE in the 90's yet, most of you were to young to remember or weren't even born yet, but that is what he is most praised on, beyond wrestling with Sting. Hell, I wasn't even alive when he was in the 4 Horseman (I don't think) and I'm nearing 21. Why do people care about this old grandpa so much that he needs ANOTHER title run? His ego is huge, when it shoudln't be. The champions now are Randy Orton and ..actually thats the only champion I know right now (I haven't watched in awhile). The others are probably either really young up and comers or really huge monterous people. HOW ON EARTH would it ever be believable (for the people that want him to be champion again) that an old man could ever beat someone who is in their 20's. He can't do much in the ring, and the people he would face would have to oversell everything he did just to make it anywhere near believable. His ego and praise. This is what I don't get. He has been convicted of many times exposing himself and sexual harassment, yet no one cares. Yet, if Randy Orton craps in a bag (which Xpac has done to many people) he gets unneeded hate. Lets see, he got tranferred to Smackdown, and then quit unless his character was more over and put into better matches. WHAT THE HELL. People give Hogan crap, yet this doesn't ring anything in anyones head that this guy isn't into himself enough and believing whatever hype seems to be there. I think it's ridiculous that this guy is considered a legend in the WWE...Most of his 'legendary' moments weren't done in the WWE except he was champion a few times in the early 90's. Other than that, he has just been annoying, even in WCW. I would rather watch Steve Mongo McMichaels come out of his Limo with Debra over and over again than Ric Flair.

I have never been a Flair fan and I have been watching since the 80's I just found him boring. I am not ripping into the guy I mean he is still going today and has kept himself in great shape. But yeah I agree with the majority of what you said.
I feel many people think you "have" to like Ric Flair when in truth theres nothing wrong if you don't. I am a huge Hitman fan but theres still plenty of people who think he is over rated and was stale.

How can somebody call Hart stale? Hart was tones better than Flair. Look at some of his few matches with Perfect.
I agree with most of what you said. Flair was good in his day and people want to see him with a title run again because they think it's going to be classic Ric Flair but it won't be. The old Ric Flair will never be back because he's too old. I think Flair should just retire now or at WM24. In my opinion Ric Flair was overrated. People say he's the best ever in wrestling ability but how can you rate him over people like Bret, Hennig, Malenko etc. He'll never be that good, as much as he tries. If Flair has another run then the WWE is waisting their time and dropping the good upcoming superstars like MVP. I would rather see MVP or Carlito as champion before modern day Ric Flaire any day.

No one matters if their name isn't Bret or Owen Hart.

I don't agree with the tone here that Flair doesn't deserve respect & isn't a legend. He was able to get in the ring with ANYONE and have a solid match, not many other wrestlers were so talented to carry considerably lesser wrestlers to strong bouts. A fantastic interview and a great heel. The Four Horsemen is without a doubt in my mind the best heel stable that ever existed.
However I do agree that Flair should no longer be in the ring, that he should have retired many years ago rather than taking a great career & reducing it to be remembered as HHH's bitch.

Just because Flair hasn't based his move set around stale submission moves or suplexes and he has charisma, he automatically sucks Lets take a look at who Hogan has putover recently and who Flair has put over recently: FlairBrock Lesnar the Rock Chris Jericho Rico Rob Van Dam Booker T Goldust Chris Benoit Edge La Resistance William Regal Randy Orton Kurt Angle Triple H Umaga Kenny Dykstra Carlito Finlay Khali Hoganthe Rock Undertaker Kurt Angle Lance Storm Christian Charlie Haas Shelton Benjamin Ric Flair is the greatest of all time and anyone who doesn't feel the same just wants to be different for the sake of being different

I respect the career he's had but I think it's time for it to come to an end. He doesn't need another title run and should just retire for his own good.

Here's a question....Why do you care if someone likes Flair?
Ric Flair is my favorite pro wrestler of all time. Some random person with way too much time on their hands isn't going to change my mind. Hell, I honestly don't understand why this bothers you.
If you don't like him, fine. There's no problem with that. However, you seem to want EVERYONE to feel the same as you...

There was a torch to be passed, to the man who could have been the Ric Flair of the 90s... unfortunately Ric believed that he could still be the Ric Flair of the 90s.

Ric Flair was a regular on WWE's roster for the last several years... Ric Flair is the greatest of all time and anyone who doesn't feel the same just wants to be different for the sake of being different Not true. I don't have a problem with Flair's legend status, but I never quite understood why everyone was so high on the guy. His old matches couldn't hold my interest, his new stuff sure as hell can't hold my interest. His promos were well cut but nothing jaw dropping. He's been doing the same old song n' dance for decades and even when it was fresh it's not something I would've marked out for. I don't doubt that he was special in his time... I just think a lot of people feel they have to blindly praise these old-school NWA guys or else they're not considered true/knowledgable wrestling fans by the IWC.

I respect the career he's had but I think it's time for it to come to an end. He doesn't need another title run and should just retire for his own good. He is in a bad way financially. I can't imagine retirement is high on his "to do" list. ________________________________________________ Ric Flair is one of the greatest ever. Simply put. You are obviously an Orton fan and just can't stand that people give Orton crap because he is a scum bag. Flair has done some weird stuff alright, bit he isn't scum, like Orton. Flair has gotten older, but he has kept in shape and he has worked hard. As for your comment about how people here wouldn't be aware of what he has done because it's from before they were born.. that is an incredibly ignorant comment to make. Thats like saying that if you're 10 you can never appreciate the real Shawn Michaels because he isn't the same as when he was younger. With websites like You Tube and Daily Motion people can view footage of wrestlers from their prime. People can gather a respect for them and see what they have helped do to the face of the wrestling business. I was never a big fan of WCW, and i kinda missed out on the nWo thing, but even though its almost a full 11 years later, I can still get the footage, watch the shows and fill in the story. Back to Flair: Flair has worked his bollocks off to get to where he is and to be able to do what he does. People don't like him because they feel like they have to in order to not get bashed. People should like Hogan. And some do. but they don't get bashed. It comes down to one thing and one thing only. Style! Every single wrestler has his own style. Kane, for example, his style of wrestling appeals to me. Therefore I am a fan. Hulk Hogan, whilst he has an enormous fan base, his style doesnt appeal to me, as i cant relate to it, so i don't like him. I will end this reply with a quote from, i believe, Triple H. "Ric Flair can draw money, you know. He's the only man that could get in the ring with a broom and have a great wrestling match!"

Heres the thing about Flair. Now i'm not going to act like I knew everything about him, because I was not alive during the 4 horsemen days. The only way I know about old Ric Flair stuff is through "The Ultimate Ric Flair" collection, Which is a really good DVD. I dont think Flair should have another title run, And thats just my opinion. I just dont think he has one in him. But the reason I like Flair is because even at 58, Flair still has so much Charisma and can always get the crowd going. To be honest, i think he still has alot more Charisma then some of the wrestlers on Raw, Smackdown, And ECW.

flair is one of the prime reasons a lot of older people watched wrestling. he was one of the greatest heel characters to exist, carried the belt of many companies during stressful times, and payed off.
flair is a legend, and it doesn't really matter what people have to say.
