i think it was a way of paying tribute.......or he just "happened" to do the crippler crossface, a move hes never done before.

Benoit himself gave all the credit for the crossface to Malenko.

doesnt matter who invented it. dean malenko hasnt been in the business for years and benoit was the only one on the current roster who did the move.

i think it was a way of paying tribute.......or he just "happened" to do the crippler crossface, a move hes never done before. he used a Sharpshooter, Anklelock and Figure Four too...moves he never (or rarely) uses the whole point was that he need to finish off Orton w/ something other than the Superkick...so he went back and pulled out some of the greatest submission moves of all time, in that aspect i guess it is a tribute to Benoit for being an awesome wrestler w/ a great submission move as a finisher, but i HIGHLY dobut that he went into the match thinking, i'm going to use the cross face as a tribute to Benoit...if that was the case then he wouldn't have used the other submission moves... i don't understand why that is so hard for people to get....

Benoit himself gave all the credit for the crossface to Malenko. Correct. He clearly stated that in his DVD released a few years ago.

It was shocking, quite exciting, and helped build up a great match. I'll allow it. Pretty much. And you know what? Signature moves aside; that submission is one of few credible ones. So bringing that out of moth city gave fans a nice piece of nostalgia. Originator not withstanding. Oh and as for Benoit not inventing it. Could have sworn Deano said he taught Chris the move, so in other words, it was pattened(sp?) by Chris. But no one move unless out of respect, should be exclusive property.

It would be pretty stupid for HBK to get in trouble IMO. Vince will hit an all time low if he punishes HBK for that.
