I personally think its because the internet. I know people are going to say its because were smart but most of the time its not. We go on Spoilers websites and read what happens. I think if everyone didnt read the spoilers WWE would be somewhat entertaining. Granted we would figure out who wins like a Lashley or Cena match But returns and firings or whatnot we wouldnt know about...

I think we would know that Cena would never lose a match at a ppv where his title was on the line.

I agree partially. The surprises never shock us anymore, but the overall match quality is down sharply from the pre-internet world. Even if we know who's going to win before hand, nobody complains about a really good match.

The internet has pro's and con's. It gives away a lot of what could be really cool suprises ... this I don't like. I don't think it affects match quality though. A match is good or bad, the internet doesn't affect that.

The internet does ruin alot of the surprises for us. But we're the idiots who like to click on those little spoilers.

you know, the internet half renewed my interest in wrestling at one point because of the depth of information available. i wouldn't say the internet ruined any of my fun

Even if we know who's going to win before hand, nobody complains about a really good match. I agree. Match quality and WWE's "creative" writers are why WWE is in such a slump. Hiring people that know how the wrestling business works and cutting down on some of the goofy 90's-like gimmicks wouldn't hurt either.

Yes, I do agree with you. Internet is partially to ruin WWE's entertaining.
And Storyline written as well. Also they have a favourism (Cena, Batista, Bobby Lashley and some more) And let them have a title shot and lose rare time. But those men ain't that entertaining like as Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock when they was WWF Champion, and some more.

I guess it has something to do with it.
But I just feel that the product isn't as good as it used to be, plain and simple.

I don't really read many spoilers unless I'm busy when the show airs or little things here and there.
A lot of it has to do with the fact that we're older now, plain and simple. That doesn't excuse the lackluster state of wrestling, but it'll never have that spark it did when you were a kid watching it.

I think it's the fact that the storylines are a pile of poop and the main event on raw is Cena vs for the 100th time. It's gets very boring and stale.

Erm without a doubt the internet has change my perceptions of wrestling in one way It takes away the surprise so I always kno when people are comin bak, on the other hand its kept me watching it because without the internet giving me that extra dimension to wot i watch I wouldnt be a wrestling fan anymore!
However I think the WWE has lost its edge. Guys like HHH, HBK, Taker dont excite me anymore and Id much rather see Mr Kennedy, Matt Hardy, Edge, CM Punk do more on the main event scene. The WWE get stuck in their ways sometimes and no doubt that causes some problems.
But overall the biggest downfall is the lack of individual Divisions, The Tag Division in 1999 with the Hardys, Dudleys and Edge n Christian was phenomenal and that has never been seen since, same with the inconsistancies of the intercontinental title!
Thats my thought anyway!

The problem is that everything is crafted to a perfect degree like everyone is around Steph who basically controls things. Everything is so scripted and crafted, it is just so fake and 'plastic-like'. All of it has Steph written over it too.

My problem is they only let one title change per quarter. It gets really stale.

Everyone else in this thread have come up with better theories than the original poster.
I don't read spoilers that doesn't save me from a bland product, so scripted and "plastic" (as one person put it) than ever before. Everyone should do themselves a favor. Read a book, see a play, bring some other culture to your life because the longer you support this company as a major source of your entertainment, you only become the stereotype that everyone else has of wrestling fans.
