No, spoilers do not make a less entertaining product. If it did, then taped Raw's wouldn't have scored the ratings they did back in the Attitude Era. Do you recall what happened when Tony Schiavone spoiled the Raw where Mick Foley won his first WWF title? The Raw rating went up. But, it was a spoiler, right? So the what? It doesn't matter if people know what's coming or not as long as it is something they want to see.

The internet has certainly ruined all of the surprises but the writers are indeed horrible. I read that Vince hired or was going to hire a wrtier that knew/knows nothing about wrestling.

its not as entertaining because most of us on here got hooked when we were little, we thought it was real, we qould believe anything they threw at us. I always wondered, how most of us hate Cena because he's overated, did all the older teens and adults hate Hogan? Because all the kids love Cena, i always wondered if it was the same with Hogan

I agree 100%. When we were all growing up, wrestling was an amazing spectacle to see. Now that we are all mature and what not, the internet is readily available to provide us all the up-to-date backstage happenings of the wrestling world, so our passion for wrestling has died down.

The internet was still very prominant in the attitude and that was great. I never read spoilers and I don't take in anything that the dirtsheets really say. The product has declined but I still don't find it overly bad, just a shadow of what it was.

I've been watching WWE for almost 20 years and the spoilers didn't spoil my excitement at seeing Jericho return last night ;D With the return of Y2J Raw just got a lot more entertaining for me ! But when you see someone like Snitsky being put into the main event on Raw next week you see what problems the WWE have these days

If it wasnt for the internet it would be the tape trading. For all you young ins thats what we did before internet Yeah but even if we didnt read the spoilers, we would come on this site, and people would have stuff like that in there sigs. I wanted it for surprise to see how Y2J will return and what he will be wearing, but you guys have pictures of it, in your sigs

Aadam,
My issue is the fact that everyone feels that the WWE can't keep things secret and I don't believe that for one second. There are plenty of TV shows out there where if there's gonna be a major storyline or season finale and if they don't want it leaked to the media they make damn sure that it's not and the predictability to me is just the fact that the people writing these storylines are just not putting any effort into it, therefore we are left with lack luster stuff. Take a look at soaps for example they can take the most predictable storylines, string you along for awhile and then out of nowhere throw in something out of the blue, now to me when I don't see something coming that's more entertaining than watching a show and knowing what exactly is going to happen.

Blaming the internet? *yawns* Does the internet write the stories for the WWE? hires the wrestlers? decides who gets pushed? decides who gets what belt? Umm, no.
Don't blame the internet, blame the morons at WWE who actually run the company.

When wrestling was hot I frequented the internet, and it never ruined it for me. So while I think the internet has changed wrestling (as it has changed everything in the world) I still don't think it's the problem. I think the writing has just gotten bad and the industry as a whole is just struggling. At least as far as the "big" two are concerned. I'm loving what ROH is doing.
