You mean when he put on a good match with someone as green as Luger he wasn't that good. When HE made Sting the star he became, he wasn't that good? When he got Steamboat over, he wasn't good? Flair was 16 time champion because he was good.' 16 times because he was popular not the other way around. You don't win the NWA title unless you are the best in the game. Flair could draw a crowd in BFE, that's a great worker. Tell him to take a backdrop correctly and have him call me in the morning. .....yeah since the guy never broke his back in a plane crash... you know he never came back sooner then anyone thought. you.

This got me thinking, and I figured why not ask. If it was not for his 16 World title reigns, would Ric Flair even be that well known? I mean seriously. Other than the '92 Rumble, Flair has done nothing but have those World title reigns. Maybe it is just my thinking but.... Do some research about Flair then come back and ask agian.

Sir, have you been checked for brain damage? Ric Flair has been an 8-time NWA World Champion, 6 WCW World Champion, and 2-time WWF World Champion making up all his 16 World championships. And yeah he DOES deserve this big of an exit, that is if this is it for him come March 30th.

#5) Your bathrobe has rhinestones and feathers on it and says "Lil Naitch" on the back #4) You only travel with 3 friends so you all can hold up 4 fingers #3) Your bestfriend is your cousin. You dont know how, you cant prove it but damnit thats how it is! #2) During sex instead of an ooooohhh face you let out a loud WHOOOO, and give your lady a knife-edge chop across her ass
AND NUMBER 1......You tell everyone that your children were conceived while your Wife was riding Space Mountain!!!!!!!

Flair is the greatest to lace up a pair of boots. That simple.

Just watch any of Flair's bouts from 88 or 89, particularly his series with Steamboat. Some of the best matches EVER. That alone is enough to prove his superiority.
And on another note I can't believe how ignorant some of you are. All his titles were in NWA and AWA (which he didnt have the AWA title anyway) so since he didn't win the WWE title a lot it doesn't mean much? Are you kidding me? Are you saying being the NWA champion in the 80's isn't important because that may have been the time in wrestling history where a world title meant more than it ever has and the NWA title was by far the most prestigious world belt in wrestling during that era.
I love how people think that unless you had your big heyday in WWE, that is just "doesn't count." Try doing some research before you say that "Because they only won a title once in the WWE, they're no big deal."

Maybe now thats true, just a group of Indie guys trying to be important but 1980s & before it was the powerhouse behind wrestling, it was the WWE of it's day. Being an NWA champ meant you were the best, you were a great wrestler, you could carry lesser regional stars to strong matches, you were a great interviewer etc. Basically being NWA champ meant you were wrestling at that time. I think the NWA runs mean much more than the WCW/WWE runs that came after.

It bugs me when people say 'oh, all so and so's matches are the same'. With some guys, mainly lesser talented workers with no sense of in ring psychology etc, this is true, because they just work one style and never change it, no matter what. A lot of the indy high flying types for example.
However, guys like Flair, Hart, HHH, Austin, Rock, HBK, Angle, all have a formula. A lot of their matches consist of the same type of stuff, the same moves etc, but they know how to tweak their styles to suit their opponent or the type of match they're in. It's basic wrestling 101.
Anyone doubting Ric Flair's ability doesn't understand wrestling.

i agree. and hes only been wwe and wcw champ about 5 or less of those times. the others are awa and nwa. with all respect to flair, he doesnt deserve this big of an exit Need you be reminded that back in the 60s, 70s and 80s a group of wrestling promoters decided who became the NWA champion. They all considered that the THE WORLDS champion, even though they had their own local title. Vincent J McMahon (Vinces father) was apart of that board, and he voted for Ric Flair to be THE WORLDS champ. The NWA title so prestigious that the best of the best were the only ones to hold it. Even the worse (Tommy Rich) would school 70% of WWF/E's champions in a wrestling match....That is unless you want "entertainment" with ladders chairs and flaming tables And another thing, the NWA and WCW is practically the same thing. Nothing changed in the company except ownership. Thats like sayin anything that happened in WWE isnt worth anything cause it didnt happen in the WWF or even WWWF

If today's wrestling had more of what Flair was in the 80's and early 90's it would be a much better product. I just wached his title match vs. Bret Hart when Hart took the title and I got to say it's one of the most under rated WWF(E) title matches of all time. So classic. But to answer your question, yes.
