Yes they are toys. Their main purpose is to PLAY video games. By marketing standards they are electronic TOYS. Think about it...Thats why sales of PS3 were not included in the sales numbers of the Blu-Ray players. Because its considered a VIDEO GAME CONSOLE. They could care less if it had a BR player added because it wasnt marketed as such, because its geared towards kids who most generally are the Video Game players.

There has only been one PS3 game geared towards kids: Ratchet and Clank.

Why do you people keep fighting with him? He's an uninformed idiot on the subject and industry, and that's never going to change, now he's just trying to irritate you. It's not like him not liking video games is going to bankrupt the almost 20 billion dollar a year industry.

I think the ones that are uninformed are the ones who say its not a toy! I have a family member who has a degree in marketing, and happens to work for one of the big toy companies. This is where I get my information. All video game systems are geared towards kids, and kids means anywhere from ages 1-17. Thus they are toys.

If your "family member" has a degree in marketing and they think that a $500 Playstation 3, which is going to have games like Grand Theft Auto on it, is a 'toy' for children then they are a ing moron and their degree should be stripped from them. Stop posting in these topics until you actually learn something about the topic at hand.

Lmfao. Blu-ray won. It's over. It has all studio support. The war is over. VMD can take their 5 GB discs and shove them up their ass. It isn't true High Definition and never will be. They aren't 5GB discs. We've been through this before. And, yeah it is HD. 1080p is 1080p, right? You can keep posting bull **** all you want, that won't make it any less untrue. Blu ray has already been implanted into the publics brain as THE format for this generation, nothing will stop it at this point. Sorry. Just because HD-DVD is gone doesn't mean that Blu-Ray is going to be the format choice of this generation. It's just too damn expensive for it to be adopted by everyone. Even though they look great, the extra cost doesn't justify switching over. $400+ just for the player, and then like $35-$40+ per movie. I've seen many movies that I love, but I don't think I've seen a movie good enough to justify spending $40. That's just insane. That's why I -- and MANY others -- believe that standard DVDs will remain the standard until the price of all things BR drastically drops or something else comes out and takes over for both formats. that is a horrible example..anything new is going to cost a lot of money..I remember (you might not be old enough, i can tell my your arguements) that when the Compact Disc first came out for music. The CD Players were upwards of $1000 and CDs costed around $50-$60. hmm...you can get a cd player for like $20 and cds go anywhere from $5-$10...same thing with DVDs..the first DVD players where very expensive, and so where DVDs...to say that its to expensive to be adopted is just to early..give it time, and now that HDDVD is gone..prices can move a little cause there is no competition..within a few years, blu-ray will be the standard format. $75-$100 blu ray players, $20 movies...brighten up buddy..look at history...it always repeats itself when it comes to technology.

Pro-wrestling is largely geared towards children. Therefore I have deducted that it is for kids. Archaic logic rules.
Bottom line is that while video game systems are definitely a huge hit with younger audiences that doesn't mean ANYTHING. It's still a sophisticated machine for entertainment purposes. What's the difference? They're both different forms of entertainment - one is interactive, one isn't.

My facts are more correct; and from the educated. Where your's are uninformed and blind. The price makes no matter. Video games have been bought by parents to be babysitters; eversince Atari. People will spend any amount to keep the kids out of their hair for hours. Thus the reason for the problem of obese kids in todays society. Eventhough the games have ratings; the video game makers know most parents will still buy these games for their kids.

Your arguements are incredibly short-sighted and those of a generic breakfeast-television watcher. It's the parent\guardian's damn fault that they buy their kids games, let alone mature ones. The fact that you called these things "toys" is utterly repulsive. Such complex machines (bar none, not even the Atari) shouldn't be thrown at kids to shut them up, but to, lack of a better term..., escape reality. The main objective of video-games is alternate reality and simulation (look at the Wii, they took that to heart).

Kids don't get obese from television and apathetic parenting or anything. It's all those damn vidya-games. Moderation? More like COMMUNISM.

Video games more than TV are the reason for OBESE kids. When I was younger I watched my fair share of tv, but my parents never allowed me to have video games. I was energetic and always outside riding my bike, tinkering with my car (when I was of age to drive), playing ball, and whatever. Now I see my friends step kids, and other kids and they are all chubby and fat, and always playing the damn PS3's, XBox's, or PSP's. Hell; my friends steps-son was so stupid and lazy that he didn't know how to ride a bike til he was 15; because of video games. The funny thing is; is the stupid geek wasnt paying attention when he was riding his bike, and hit a phone pole. The puss got up crying and left his bike laying in the street, and swore to never ride his bike again. To this day he hasn't touched a bike. Now he is 19, still fat, and now GAY.

HE'S GAY!!!!! and fat, but he's gay! run for the hills! Will someone please think of the children! All those people with Wii's will turn into fat gay people! Can you spell homophobic? BTW, not too many kids I know I have money for HDTV's, and $400 gaming systems. Also, the average age of a gamer is mostly in their 20's to 30's, so yeah, there still "toys".....

Can we stop arguing with MR. Vizio? Clearly he's either an idiot or he's just saying anything he can to keep the argument going... which would also make him an idiot. Either way, we all know that he is wrong. He's never going to admit that he is wrong, so there's no point in keeping this going.
