For everyone in the US, Eating healthy is not very easy. All we see on TV are food comercials, Making everyone want to shove disgusting fatty foods down there mouth. Do we all eat perfect? No, Of course not. Is it easy to eat heatlhy... no. All the fast food we eat is ruining us. I myself know for a fact what eating bad can do to someone. Last Summer I started eating less and less junk food and started eating home more. I dropped about 15 pounds by September, and best of all I felt absoloutley great.
I felt really good about myself then. But... I eventually gave up my goal, So I just started eating crappy again. Since then I've gained 20 pounds. It's terrible. It took me about a month and a half to lose the weight, In a few months I got it back and gained more. I feel worse lately. I eat candy to much. I never even used to touch a candy bar. Now I'm all for sweets, Junk food.. Eating out.. And it's horrible. I feel bad now. It's hard to eat healthy now that my body is immune to all the crappy food I've been eating the past few months.
I really need to motivate myself now that the warmer weather is coming. What should I do? How do I motviate myself?

I dont have a good diet but I dont eat seriously crappy crap mainly because just a little makes me feel sick, if you can make your mind associate crappy food with crappy feelings and horrible expieriences then you're less likely to want it, for instance I was once sick after eating a chocolate bar and I very rarely eat chocolate bars now and I find it very easy not to because i just get nausious(sp?) after a few bites.

Do you want to date this? So - Shrink portions - Drink water - Exercise...hell just walking somewhere instead of driving helps and you can still eat out and eat well. You can even still have junk food if you portion it out correctly. Candy once a week is just fine.

I just started the South Beach Diet. For me, it is ing brutal. I am used to eating whatever I want, whenever I want. No Doritos, no McD's fries, no Coke Classics. Brutal. I was doing it for a week, and I had to take a break today for something delicious. I'm not going to pig out, I just might have a salad and fries from McD. I need a taste of something good. I'm so bored of eggs and salad.

It's best to eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. It helps keep your metabolism level. I've always been into exercise since I was a teenager and now with my job, so eating healthy is a part of my life. I do eat junk food as well, just not all the time.

Take a picture of yourself in a Speedo & tape it to the refrigerator.

I drink ice tea AND water at every meal.
If I want a snack, I eat sunflower seeds, cheerios, grapes, granola bars....even the smores, peanut butter, and chocolate chip ones are better for you than a candy bar.
I eat sandwiches for lunch everyday. ham and turkey with red onion and yellow mustard on a hamburger roll. Two of those everyday.
If I start dying during the day like I really want to eat something. I eat a "Pure Protein" chocolate peanut butter bar. It's 190 calories, 6 grams of fat and 20 grams of protein....no trans fat and only grams of sugar. It TASTES like a candy bar but its good for you and has muscle building protein. And it makes me not hungry for a long time.
I've now eaten very wisely throughout the course of the day, I can now eat whatever I want at night. I can have pizza on Friday watching the game. Mostly I eat chicken, rice and broccoli a few times a week, Wednesday is pasta night, Thursday usually some kind of vegetable soup.
I also do a lot of running and throwing as part of my baseball work out plan. I play tennis, and a lot of guys may think it's "gay" or whatever, but I had an ex-gf who got me into some really basic yoga and thats helped me strengthen a lot of muscles in my back and legs that used to hurt and be my "excuse" not to exercise when I was in pain.
It's all about finding what works for you...what I have outlines above is what WORKS FOR ME. I know in most cases, you just feel hungry, it happens to me. In college McDonald's is cheap and easy to get. You can get 4 cheeseburgers for less money than a head of brocolli....its EXPENSIVE to eat healthy. It's just something that I feel is personally important to me, that is my motivation.

I got on a "be healthy" kickl last year and lost about 20 lbs. Since then stress at work went way, way, way, way up. I cope with stress by eating "comfort food" which obviously is unhealthy. I need to get back into shape myself. Perhaps we should start a WF weight loss group.

I got a heavy bag and some boxing gloves and do that for an hour a day. It is fun and burns calories if you want to spend the money to get it set up. It cost me about $130 to set it up but it is cheaper than joining a Gym.

I used to do yoga when I played hockey in high school. I think DDP released a yoga for regular joes dvd recently (or is in the near future) which I think I'll pick up to get back into it. I once made the mistake of trying an advanced yoga class like my Junior year thinking it wouldn't be that hard...I could barely sit up straight the next day.

Perhaps we should start a WF weight loss group. That'd be quite interesting actually. Anyway, As for my story... well.. Im just fat. Nah, i get a bit of depression here and there that makes me feel like doing nothing with my life. But yeah, as of late (the past week and a half i'd say) i have been doing light exercising. I haven't got anything really done yet. I've been doing "toning" exercises (in other words, i've been doing very little but 'crunches' and basic leg exercises) until i feel sore. then i stop for a minute, and start back at it til it hurts again, and repeat til i get bored (i usually dedicate an hour every two days to pretending to work out. I lie to myself even) I havent noticed any results (even though i've barely tried) so now im blaming it on the food i eat. I used to eat a lot of crap. i mean, a LOT of crap. So im gonna slowly work that out of my diet. Im by no means gonna starve myself. Chips (or fries, as i think you Americans call them) and chops with some pepper sauce is my usual main meal. aside from that i've just been eating dry toast and other little things like rolls with ham, tomato, etc. in them. I'm "Straight Edge" (even though i dont like CM Punk) so all i drink really is tea. But, in saying that, i drink a LOT of tea. Im constantly drinking it. but i dont see the harm in drinking too much tea, so im not bothered about cutting that out. Other than that i'll invest some money into some basic weights and use them. Hopefully in a month or so i'll have a body similar to John Cena's. If not i'll just give up again

If you want a meal that holds you over in the morning until about 12, eat a bowl of Oatmeal. It's harder to digest which makes you stay full for a longer time.
